The Lines for this ride were so big when it opened

But I will always remember the story of my friend's going on and waiting 2 hours and after being like....that was it?

Its a super fun little coaster that I will go on if its got a low line but compared to Florida...we got ripped off and sadly the ride feels like a filler ride. Like I'm glad its not gone but its on very borrowed time or at least thats how they are treating it with how many effects don't work as well or at all compared to day one

In the launch scene where the two Mummy guards drop down from the ceiling, the guard on the right has been missing for about a year. But if you look up to the spot it drops from, it’s actually still there. Only it’s just the endoskeleton, stripped of its costume and theming and motionless. It’s one of the weirdest and most fascinating things I’ve seen in a theme park.

I’m a sucker for little remnants of broken or disabled effects or former theming in re-used ride buildings. I can’t get enough of stuff like this. I’d have to imagine the drop mechanism just broke and they’re waiting to restore the second guard until that mega-refurbishment/remake that’s been rumored.

That’s fascinating! Will have to look out for that in my next ride!

I do hope though they plan on fixing that effect. Maybe if those Mummy enhancements are happening, they might do it!

In light of recent news: I really hope RoTM gets the chance to have a Jurassic World-esque upgrade treatment done to Revenge of The Mummy.

Modernize it with the Intamin MDC system, have it be the next major project following Hollywood Drift. Gimme a modern experience that captures the spirit of the original RoTM, but with the characters from the film more properly incorporated.

Double points, if you can film it alongside The Mummy 4.

I think that would be the best course of action if they don’t get rid of it. Just “remaster” or even “remake” the ride.

Ideally I would strongly prefer they just straight-up replace it with a more modern Intamin indoor coaster. Something like the upcoming Londomonium at Parc Asterix. If to my wont replace it then give it a touch-up.

Keep in mind that Jurassic World was announced to replace Jurassic Park nearly 22 years after that attraction opened.

RotM turns 22 next year.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this new Loungefly end up at the park in the near future

1000087297.jpg

Along with the mini backpack, there's also this new Anubis canopic jar cardholder

Considering how much nostalgia & popularity the Brendan Fraser Mummy franchise still holds (enough to warrant a Mummy 4 for 2028 no less), it's still baffling that they don't make effort to give us new merch for this iconic ride. Especially considering, Transformers got great new merch last fall at the end of HHN.

Wasn’t this already sold at the park and it was never restocked.

Nevermind it was a similar bag that was sold. This one looks not as good compared.

Not that I’ve heard any rumors heating up about this ride’s demise recently, but with F&F wrapping up, I wonder how much longer this ride has?

Yeah, we got that new Mummy movie coming out next year, but the park’s been trying to get rid of this ride for expansion since 2015. I remember rumors about this ride’s removal sprouting up all the way back then. There was one big factor holding them back from axing it: It was the park’s only “real” roller coaster.

Now that F&F is a few months from opening, the park finally is in a position where they can get rid of this ride. Seeing the state the ride currently is in, I have to wonder how much longer the Mummy has?

Whatever replaces this ride has to be a new indoor coaster. GP is not gonna take it well if anything other than that replaces Mummy. While the park finally has a proper coaster, it still needs that intermediate thrill coaster that’s a little more exciting than Hippogriff but not as crazy as F&F.

The problem with removing it is not only the potential for future cross-promotion but also the fact that it's been around long us for an entire generation of people to have nostalgia for it.

I mean with a 4th Filming coming...why not do a Jurassic World and just update it?

It kind of would be smart, since we don't have much time before 2028...that would be one way to add a new "E ticket" to the park by just updating this ride

I know I'm going to get flack for this, but if the endgame is to use the 16-24 SS cluster for lower lot expansion, I would think Mummy would have to be removed to allow access to it. Could be wrong though.

This is really the only ride in the park I could see being on the chopping block anytime soon, and once mummy goes, I think that's the end of the studio soundstage theme in the lower lot, as mummy is what holds the theme together so it will be interesting to see what they end up doing with Transformers and the restaurant once mummy is gone.

Would you guys consider this an e-ticket? I kinda would, or at least e-ticket lite. If they got rid of it, I would hope it be replaced with something on a similar scale. Another thrill ride. A modernized coaster with a fresher IP (or just an original idea) would be ideal, imo.

Its An E ticket

Its a themed Roller coaster even with the ending not near 100% it has really good theming, The Q is cool enough and love the book that you touch and sprays air on your hand.

Also behind it are buildings that most likely will be tore down...so even if this is say the entrance to a new land/lands then maybe not an E ticket on the land where this ride is...but it will lead to something at the same level or better

An attraction's classification can certainly evolve with time. Revenge of the Mummy was certainly marketed as an d-ticket despite its relatively low budget. Because it was the park's only real rollercoaster at the time, I think it's safe to say it debuted as an e-ticket, too.

Now? It's a gray area, I'd say. I've always liked The Unofficial Guide's categories, which arguably convey a bit more nuance: Minor attraction, major attraction, headliner, super headliner. I'm not actually sure what the latest Guide classifies Mummy as, but I'd put it under "headliner." If we want to stick to the numbered letters, I think it slips to D with the opening of Fast & Furious.

Yeah, this is how I feel, especially the part about Hollywood Drift knocking it down a tier. But I think that's fine! Strong parks have those d-ticket, headliner but not super-headliner coasters. Orlando comes to mind. Their Mummy ride coexisted very well with Rip Ride and will continue with their Hollywood Drift. Like others here are saying, keeping a mid-level coaster to go with the new e-ticket one would be perfect.
