Figured I'd make a thread for this film as it's arriving next year, and some intruiging new info has come out thanks to a Spanish interview.
The film is about a black cat named Nero who finds himself indebted to a mob boss, and ends up befriending a street artist in Venice.
Per the Spanish interview, Nero will be voiced by Mark Ruffalo. But more intriguingly, one of Pixar's set designers reveals that the one piece of concept art of the film that has been revealed...is not concept art, it's final.
This is a very exciting reveal since there was a whole lotta' buzz when WDAS released the Paperman short, we were all wondering when Disney was going to make a full-blown film in that style...and they proceeded to do nothing. So it's pretty ironic that Pixar themselves ended up doing it. The set designer revealed they implemented a whole new production system, as the sets are 3D modeled and then the details are hand drawn over them, making for a very striking look which is a pleasant change of pace from Pixar.
