Food for thought as it's been nagging me; as this isn't necessarily related to the hotel at the front gate, I'm gonna post this here as I have a nagging thought.
For the past few months in overlooking Eastside Security Hub and the ongoing construction efforts--there seems to be a reduced effort being done. To streamline it, and make it as a blunt force throughfare for the sake of Curious George and ET--with no form of the escalators. The window I have heard for Security seems to be either by March or April for the security--so unless the escalators come in at the last second, it's going to be a throughfare. An underdeveloped, throughfare at that; with the main passage being a overhang bridge.
Part of me wonders if the underdevelopment might be a intended "feature" rather than a bug in this case. Why?
The answer is a bit simple. Ground is expected to be breaking soon on the relocated Tech Services (
in the next week), and I wonder if the gameplan might be for Eastside, to intentionally under develop the new security infrastructure for this part of the property, so they can then go in and invest on a large scale Citywalk expansion for this side of the property once they can demolish the current Tech Services.
What could warrant an expansion? The immediate thought rings if they might be wanting to do a second hotel structure, but there are other options such as a upcharge Studio Tour experience; or going back to the archives and bringing in a version of the scrapped 90's expansion of Citywalk Hollywood (whether it does or doesn't have Cheesecake Factory is up to you).
They seemed to have ideas of it back in the 90's--could be possible they can't keep a good idea down for *something* to happen over here in the near future.
