Finale Drac is in a new (?) B mode today where he isn’t moving from his post, but his actual figure still has motion. Also the two electrical coil things pointed toward Drac when he escapes are moving back and forth now.

Haptics can still sound like the RV is buzzing inappropriately in certain spots (notably when Drac escapes and when Frank cooks the brides), but the ride is overall in really good shape today. And is really dead.

What was the fallen rider? Did one of the figures slip out of the vehicle?

It was a shorter figure meant to be the kid that isn't tall enough, but guessing some parents weren't happy about it.

They need a proper B-mode for the finale Drac. Whether a temporary screen that can be placed in front of the animatronic or different lighting sequence to make it appear as he is moving (Disco Yeti). It's too crucial to the experience to miss out

He's moving. He's just not flying back.

His hand movements are bizarre and limited, and the lighting is unfortunately very faint, so for riders that don't know what it's intended purpose is it feels like an afterthought. While it's better than nothing, I don't think it's a proper b-mode for the grand finale of the attraction. The ride's finale is already questionable when it works as intended, so without this major show element it ends at a rough point.

I was lucky to see it work as intended on my first ride, so I really hope they can get it back online soon.

Just want to say that the rest of the attraction is fantastic to the point where the weak finale doesn't bring down the overall enjoyment for the experience.

Anybody know how finale Drac is holding up? From my understanding he's in B-mode since opening day. :(

I've been putting this off, but at some point during previews I buckled and got a day ticket--it's as good a deal as I'm going to get.

The only thing keeping me from outright calling this the best dark ride Universal has ever built is how re-rideable MiB is due to the shooting mechanism. But having gotten over any disappointment I might have had that this wasn't the next Alien Encounter (having never truly expected such)...I was blown away by this attraction. There are so many things I love about it, I'm just going to list them off as they come to mind:

-The Phantom organ is a thing of beauty. I cannot get over how perfect it is.

-Wolfman is a complete BAMF.

-Ygor is hilarious. One of the best safety videos ever.

-The Mummy coffin open effect and ceiling figure are insanely cool.

-The Frank monster electricity effect is also very neat (I'm running out of synonyms here).

-The finale actually worked; when it does it along with really all the Drac and Bride figures take full advantage of the potential for Kuka arm technology.

-This ride is (pardon the pun) a people eater.

-Unlike this ride's technological predecessor, the story is perfectly coherent.

As @OrlandoGuy said in his review, no it's not the most immsersive thing in the world, but I don't really care because this ride and land feels like a work of pure creative endeavor and passion. Monsters Unchained and Dark Universe was like being right back in Lost Continent in all its pre-Hogsmeade glory. This is why I became enamored with themed entertainment in the first place. Literally everyone who worked on it should be beaming with pride.

I rode Supercharged twice one time! Took a lot out of me. Does that count for anything?

Oh yeah, it's Unchained over-analyze time. With yesterday being my first time seeing the ride in an officially open state, I think...

The ride is in the best shape I've seen it. I have a few minor grievances but for the most part, the ride is perfect now.
  • Overall the lighting is SIGNIFICANTLY better now. Could still be a BIT darker, but the scenes all look fantastic now with the new lighting. In particular- Phantom, Creature, Wolfman, and most of all, the second Dracula scene, but we'll get to that later.

  • The ride's audio has both been made much clearer, and a lot louder now, and it's incredible. Definitely gave a much more dangerous and chaotic feel, as it should.

  • Almost every single scene has haptic feedback in the seats now, and while for the most part it's fine, it definitely gets overused.

  • While not completely fixed, the first Dracula scene is staged much better now. The way the vehicle is now angled makes it harder to see the robotic arm for Drac, and you get much closer to him now, it added a great sense of scale that the scene was missing. Black curtain is unfortunately still very visible, but you whisk by it very quickly now, so... problem kinda solved? Hoping to still see an actual themed wall replace this sooner rather than later.

  • New alarm audio that plays after Dracula escapes, once again adding more to that sense of danger.

  • The bride attacking Victoria also looks much better now thanks to the new lighting, which hides the arm almost completely now.

  • While sadly inconsistent (I only felt it in 1/5 ride-throughs yesterday), very pleased to report that there is indeed now a breathing effect in that space between Victoria/Bride and Gillman!

  • You get closer to Creature and his new lighting puts more emphasis on him, and his robotic arm is completely hidden now. Much better.

  • The first Wolfman now completely waterboards you with blood if you're in the vehicle's left seats.

  • Lunging Wolfman gets closer!

  • The Mummy sequence is absolutely perfected now. The candles surrounding the sarcophagus now go dark as the coffin opens, and they've added a slow rumbling in the seats that does it make feel like there's snakes crawling beneath you, and it genuinely got me. I actually put that suggestion in a survey back in May, so part of me likes to think they saw that and added it ;)

  • The second Dracula animatronic... this scene is even better than it already was thanks to the attraction's new lighting. Before you turn to Drac, the vehicle stays looking at the wall for a moment, and his shadow is now cast across it, which you can see begin to rise before you turn to him. Absolutely beautiful.

  • New blood splatter effect from the first bride that gets zapped by the daylight.

  • Now we get to what I said earlier with the haptic feedback being overused, the entire finale it's going off like crazy in your seats, and it's just too much. It's no longer scary and more just begins to distract from what's going on. Only bad change made for the opening.

  • Finale Drac was unfortunately in B-mode.

  • Not sure if this is new or just never heard it, but they've added Dracula quietly laughing as you exit in the hallway. They already had it in the ending of the ride itself, but it now echoes through the exit hallways as well. Quite creepy.

Awesome analysis! Hopefully they’ll put other sets and physical wall over black curtain with chain scene soon. Btw, what does breathing effect do?

Holy hell this is the best ride I’ve ever ridden.
Got three rides on it today, what a work of art.

Also, Finale Dracula was working all day. Ceiling mummy was the only AA not working.

Dude it is so damn good. It’s the best ride I’ve ever seen.

I will be writing a review soon, but my favorite ride oat was Cosmic rewind but it’s been dethroned by Unchained.
I can’t believe we live in the timeline where we got this ride the way we did. It is amazing.

Wow this was an insane ride! I have no idea what all happened but it was intense and amazing!

I was hoping to take my son on it and asked the cashier at Stella Nova how scary it was compared to Forbidden Journey and she told us Forbidden Journey was way worse. Luckily my son decided he didn't want to go and then declined his $20 bribe to go on it. Half way thru my wife and I just burst into uncontrollable laughter at how much fun it was but also how terrified he would have been.
