Hi. The after hours event we went to was a blast. Next time I’ll bring kids (especially my kid who hates waiting in lines). Enjoyed it so much we might do the Hollywood Studios after hours in the future.
We haven’t been to MK since 2017 so we got to experience new rides. We did Tiana’s once we got inside. It was cute and I liked it better than the country bears to be honest. After the ride my hub asks what was the story of the ride? I’m like IDK just enjoy the swamp lol. Tron was shut down the entire time soooo bummed because that’s the ride I was looking forward to the most besides Tiana’s. Rode Under the Sea and that was very cute. Enjoyed riding Minetrain at night and the wait wasn’t even 15 minutes. Stark contrast from our last visit. We had the tree house to ourselves for the most part and got fantastic pictures of the castle. I feel like Pirates and Haunted were darker inside than previously which I liked. Also felt like Peter Pan’s ride ran faster and it was squeaking. The squeaking kinda took my focus off ride:(
The rain showed up around 12:30 and got stuck at Cinderella’s castle. Not a bad place to hang out :)
I truly enjoyed the after hours for basically walking onto rides and it being cooler at night. Not having to wade through a sea of people was awesome. The cast members were fantastic and loved our send off out of the park. It was worth every cent in my opinion.

Basically one of the main reasons I enjoyed going to Mickey’s not so scary a few years back was how fast I was able to get on rides. Went with my family and my sister was about 13 at the time and had no interest in character meet and greets so it was just all rides and candy stops. Definitely worth it.

No? That's a completely different ride system and show set?

No, and I'd argue they shouldn't. Shanghai Pirates is good for what it is, but the original ride is irreplaceable.

I feel as though instead of adding rides they should do what they are doing to big thunder and buzz just do big giant refrebs to a lot of the rides cause some of them need it the only new thing they need is something to go into the stich buliding that’s it

I hope so. Though I would argue Space Mountain deserves an extensive refurbishment first but it's alright. It's just good to know they're trying to improve the park

They need to add more attractions in addition to refurbishing what they have. Year over year they increase attendance, but ride count remains the same. If you are bringing in more guests each year you need more things for them to do each year as well.

Say hi to the new Cars ride replacing a very low capacity attraction and Villains Land.

I agree, but they are doing this (finally) with Villains & Cars. I'm no fan of what they're doing to the Rivers of America... but they are adding stuff now.

Disney knows that they've been slacking at their domestic parks... and they're now working on projects that should have been done years ago. Big Thunder retrack, Buzz refurb.

I think Space Mountain will get the major refurb post-Big Thunder/Buzz. Could be done as the first phase of a major Tomorrowland transformation.

I actually love how bold Disney's been with the refurbs as of late. It used to be they would only ever take down 1 attraction at a time as to not inconvenience any guests planning trips there.

No, the inconvenience is the millions of guests who pass through and don't get to see these attractions operating anywhere near as well as they could & should be. Keep plussing, WDI! It's why the parks were created in the first place.

A lot of these big refurbs were probably planned for the 50th celebration but put off until now.

I’m actually excited to see how this turns out.

Any new spaces being created to add to the existing MK fabric is great in my opinion.

I'm just not a huge drinker. I barely ever drink, most I've done was getting christmas shots around Epcot that's it. It's another new thing at Magic Kingdom so that's nice. That's all the thoughts I got lol

Dumb question from a CA native, but did the Magic Kingdom previously serve alcohol before this?

This article goes into details..

TDLR: Yes at select table service locations but this will be the first “bar” in the MK.
