Well, in less than ONE MONTH, season pass previews begin (May 13th). Will Knott's be able to push it to make the opening for Iron Reef? Or will Knott's become the new Magic Mountain when it comes to opening dates? Stay tuned and find out, boys and girls!

I honestly believe they will make it and open the ride on time. The inside is most likely completed and they are probably alreadly halfway through the test and adjust phase. The facade shouldn't take much more time to finish.

My guess is that queue will be literally just completed and safe, but not entirely finished like the ride. From what I know, the ramp still has not been constructed yet.

Y'know, the ramp... that actually gets people up to the ride. Still not there. Obviously unlike USH or Disney, there are not many who are there often enough to give updates, but hopefully we'll see something new. They have to be really moving to get that done on time.

And I know this sounds jerky, but I'm willing to bet a month from now we'll be laughing at this ride anyways so I'm not really impatient to see the end result inside, just curious to see them actually finish the exterior.

Um, they built the stair cases that take you up the second level last week.

Oh it's a staircase now? Weird. I know there is still an elevator, but you'd think they would have kept it a ramp.

I do have some encouraging news to share about this ride. It sounds like the ride may have some interesting physical scenes.

Knott's Network, who informed me there will be a themed indoor queue above Rocket's, mentioned on their FB page that the physical Roaring 20's sign that was above the ride will make an appearance in the second scene. Apparently, it will be hidden among the Kraken's stash of old park stuff. It will light up when you shoot at it. The PR said something about paying homage to KoD and Bear-y Tales so I think we'll see props from those rides in that scene.

How is the food here? Anything worth trying or is it best to just walk out the park and go somewhere nearby?

Go to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Restaurant. You won't regret it. Fair prices for a full four course meal with dessert included. It's located just outside the park entrance.

The new boysenberry items in the park are REALLY good. The Ghost Town Grill is also a good place to eat inside the park.

Have to be honest...the attraction's show building doesn't look that impressive. I hope I'm wrong, but this looks like a very cheap refit.

it is. The Justice League Rides at SFSTL and SFoT look way better. There will literally be only one or two physical props in all this, and aside from that, it's only about 600 ft in track length. I am not hyped for this in any sort of way, shame really, as these last two years at KBF, their refurbishments and additions to the Boardwalk area really stood out.

Apparently they made enough queue for well over an hour specifically for this ride. (no thanks to its paltry 800 per hour capacity) If it's as cheesy as I've been hearing, that's a worse crime than Antarctica.

I've got a season pass to Knotts so I'll be finding out soon...I'll report in to y'all soon as I do. I have an impending sense of dread.

To be fair, nobody was expecting a dramatic change to the building's exterior. The rotted away interior of KoD has been completely gutted and rebuilt from the inside, so I don't think, in that sense, it will be cheap. How they do the scenes of the ride is another issue.

How do you know this? Is this speculation or literal inside info? We know there will be 600ft. of track. I think there will be more than just a couple of props. There will be a lot of old memorabilia and signage and props in the second scene including the old "Roaring 20's" sign. I'm hoping to see maybe a couple or more "natural" props (an anchor or ship engine of some sort).

But I will agree that no matter what, Justice League is likely to be better. I'm not expecting this to match up with Spiderman, MIB, or Transformers. I'm expecting a fun, quirky shooter ride that has a good storyline that creatively utilizes its homage to the former park's history. I do hope that this will be another step forward to give Knott's a physical sets and practical-heavy dark ride in the not-so distant future.

I am curious to see what the queue will be like.

I'm going to keep my expectations low, but I'm also going to be somewhat optimistic about this ride.

No, that's not a snapshot from RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.

Sigh, why Knott's... why

Whatever is rendering that in real time clearly isn't that beefy. Looks like an early 2006 Xbox 360 game.

^ If they're aiming for a computer screen saver, I guess it can work.

Wow! Those graphics for the ride look phenomenal......in 1998.

I had a dream last night that I rode this and the sets were cardboard material reefs that looked like someone from Kindergarten made it. The targets were balloons that popped and the screens were small TV sets with fuzz on them.

I don't think the ride will be that bad, but there's no denying the graphics are...erm.... outdated.

What did you guys think of the article put out on the LA Times? Seems like the ride will be better than some are expecting.
