What software are they using to create that coaster sim? Does it allow one to build all the other stuff like custom rocks and buildings too or is that created in another program? Perhaps Gabe knows... perhaps Gabe created it? It’s really well done!

I haven't touched my recreation in a while, who knows it it'll ever see the light of day at this rate. From the looks of it he mostly used the in-game scenery objects that come with NoLimits 2 with a few custom assets added in. I normally model everything in blender and import to nl2, not sure what program he used for his custom models.

Just to throw two cents into the discussion of the timeline of the two films and the island.

Is everyone not aware that Goldblum, Sam Neil, and Laura Dern are all returning in JW: Dominion? Granted, the time difference may still be there but...

#1 - I could have sworn they died in the Last Jedi

#2 - I could have sworn they already filmed the scenes for this ride when they redid River Adventure in Hollywood

Me thinks that train is a car or two too long.

I cannot imagine any possibility this coaster is gonna have six car trains. Cheetah Hunt, Taiga, and Taron have four cars- Maverick with three. Pantheon seems to have five, which is what Velocicoaster will probably have. Like I've said before, I don't mind being wrong though.

FWIW, six cars is what NoLimits defaults to.

I’ve heard 6 cars, 2 rows each.

*Looks around the room, waiting for someone else to explain...and nope, okay here we go...*

The JP in IOA is a different island - Isla Adventura. It’s a franchised version of the JP on Isla Nublar. All the film franchise’s events occur on that island.

Could they say, “Hey, here’s raptor trainer Owen from our latest park franchise, Jurassic World, and he’s here to teach you about raptors!”? Sure, that works. I’m just in the .01% of fans that takes theming too seriously and would like the land to either be JP or JW - not a combined version that’s confusing to try to justify. But, hey! This coaster’s still going to be fun, right?!

*Sits back down, hoping that recaps everything. Nibbles on a cracker.*

lol it’s a roller coaster I don’t really care about thematic consistency. I’m on a fast rollercoaster with robot dinosaurs and that’s it. No offense to anyone I just feel like this is something so small. Again I respect your opinion though.

Yeah, I understand. It’s really no big deal, but I enjoy Disney and Universal because of the story telling they’re able to achieve within themed spaces. I go to Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks for the “hey it’s just a fun coaster!” experience.

My hope is that this experience can be on par with Hagrid’s.

Is it the storytelling or is it more of the aesthetics?

Because Universal or Disney will have both. Because a beautiful coaster w/ rockwork and a beautiful setting can make it incredibly enjoyable; storytelling be damned.

I have no idea what the storytelling of Big Thunder is, but it's infinitely better than some "runaway minetrain" coaster at six flags or cedar park simply on aesthetics alone.

And the difference is- everyone notices the aesthetics. Only the nerdiest amongst us know about "Isla Aventura" or many of the not-obvious storylines.
Could you imagine walking behind someone and overhearing them say "look- we're in jurassic park" and you correcting them telling them "akshually it's Isla Aventura". The look they'd give us.

Chills. The heartline roll into the break run feels incredibly smooth in this. And I love the inclusion of the raptors at the end, just like @Alicia’s rumor.

Dare I say, this could be better than Hagrid's?

I hope they have the jeeps at the end like the video, that was a nice touch.

Tough comparison. Different strokes for different folks situation.

But the fact we essentially lost Fire and Ice on DD and gained Hagrids and this? Wow.
A more moderate but heavier themed coaster that families can ride just fine plus a more intense and better themed coaster for enthusiasts.
What an incredible tradeoff.
