Jurassic World VelociCoaster Construction Thread (Opening June 10)

Technically Avatar is still alive. They pitched a 3 attraction Pandora to Cameron and he approved. Then WDI said that there was no way to build it with the $500 Million budget and cut the motorbike coaster and Cameron said "no way". They have since made 2 pitches that could be built for $500 million and Cameron shot both of them done. That's where it stands now. Basically they are starting from scratch. 18 months into the project and they have nothing but a contract.

As many predicted...Disney is too cheap to build Cameron's vision and Cameron is to locked in to let his exact vision go

Onto Jurrassic Park..I am curious about this Discovery Center attraction..anyone car to elaborate on that?

If you remember in the first movie, the sequence with Mr.DNA would basically be what the attraction would be like but with some added stuff it seems.

It would be fun to have a live actor in this attraction. That's something Universal has always excelled at.

I re-watched that ride segment, and I was thinking it might be neat if instead of an animated sequence to describe how cloning works, they went with something more impressionistic, like a ride through physical sets that looked like double helixes. In other words, something more akin to classic Epcot Center rides.

I wouldn't say they are loosing anything, as they still have high attendence. That being said..Avatar is only so exciting. We need to see some new expansions in each park.

Epcot - New Countries (its' been WAY too long)...new area (in place of Wonders of Life)
Studios - Cars Land or Star Wars Expansion.

Disney really are being idiots if they made a Star Wars land do you know how many types of people that would bring in?? If they even wanna stay close with Universal in the next few years they better start thinking about doing it. I really wish Universal could have been able to get the LucasFilm rights somehow. They would have took that responsibility seriously like they did with Harry Potter.

They are though to my limited knowledge they are/were looking at lands for the Franchise in Hong Kong and Shanghai...but back to Jurassic Park... so do we know the plot of the 4th Movie ... do we think they will sneak in a new drink in the film like 'Raptor Energy' or some such thing...

I think before they did an expansion (or even at the same time) is 'spruce' up the River Adventure. Of the recent video's I've seen it looks like it could do with a lick of paint.

Its cool i dont mind im way more of a Universal guy anyways. Back to Jurassic Park i was thinking when are we gonna see the Jurassic Park 3 major dino? the one thats bigger than a T-Rex i dont know the name of it but it would be nice to it in the Amber Mine Coaster or something.

No just sharing the "current" status is all. What happens to them in the future is still up in the air.

Just being geeky geeky here... but this is the literal music that I would love to hear for this possible ride; most importantly the opening drums. I don't believe they use this setup on JPRA. After the drums I would love for it to go mine dark ride interior. One can imagine the rest of a dark mine ride in the atmospheric music after that. (ignore the silly video game graphic)

thats what i was saying. I wanna see the dinosaur thats in the 3rd movie thats bigger than the T-Rex. An AA of that would be amazing.

That's a major understatement. Toon Lagoon used to be loaded with awesome characters(Popeye, Bluto, etc) now it is a virtual ghost town. (At least they still have The Simpsons out and about).

Yes!! You're right they don't use it for the opening of JPRA, The "Time, the ever flowing river.." bit. Its a very cool dramatic piece, a perfect opener for a new JP ride.
