Glad the franchise is going back to a smaller scale rather than globe trotting

How fast this production got started is hopefully a sign of the studio's confidence in it

I wouldn't consider any of the films, including this one being "small scale". And they're clearly doing some form of "globe trotting" considering they have to search for specific dinos

I think while some dinos still roam parts of equatorial countries around the globe, I think the story will mainly stick to one location, this mysterious "island". So in a sense it's "small scale" but also just an excuse to get back to basics.

At least we're off & away from THE island(s).

I'm also hoping for more physical dinos & less CGI. The last 3 films relied on it too much

The logline does make it sound like this story is going to be cobbled together from pieces of other JURASSIC movies, but Edwards is a strong visual director, I like the cast (especially Johansson and Ali), and Koepp -- whatever you want to say about some of his more recent efforts -- has been a reliably crowd-pleasing screenwriter in the past.

I'm optimistic.

Dino-Human hybrids was my first thought lol ... hopefully not but another franchise just did something similar

Dino-human hybrids is a plot that goes as far back as JP3 & is what HHN Orlando used for JP Extinction in 2002.

Anyway, the "shocking discovery hidden from the world" & knowing there will be ancient ruins/temples gives a lot of hype. Of course, me being a Super Sentai/Power Rangers fanboy, I'm trying my hardest to NOT do the franchise crossover Multiple seasons dealing with dinos, ugh.. just give me an ancient dino temple!

I hope not as well but a few videos I watched talked about the potiential of bringing the DX Virus from the novels into film cannon.

Exact opposite. Looks like a real return to form for the franchise, IMO. The further we get away from the almost super hero esque action adventure plotting of the Jurassic World trilogy, the more I really just want the series to be about regular humans with some quirks and some dangerous, thrilling dinosaur action. This looks more like that than the over the top antics of JW.

I do wish it didn't have the World moniker attached to it but it must be too popular to move away from it now.

i completely agree. absolutely. the last one was really really awful. Jurassic world Dominion is the worst one in the franchise with the bugs.
so this one I hope and I think will be so much better.

I overall liked the WORLD trilogy more than I disliked it, but I really want something more stripped-down and a little bit meaner.

Edwards is a good visual director, and I think he can deliver if the script is decent.

This is how I feel. The last 3 films I’ve enjoyed in the theatre no problem, but I want more. This seems like it will bring more, I’m going opening weekend.
