I have bitter sweet feelings over it.
Obviously I'm super happy about his movie and I was a huge fan of him. I loved him.
But even since he said he wouldn't review movies negatively because he was becoming a filmmaker ( or something like that) then I kinda stopped watching his channel. So I kind of forgot that he was still working on it.

And I'm excited to see his movie but I hope it was worth the wait, it's been so long. I'll give it a watch when is released, but if it has problems I shall write an Honest review about it on rotten tomatoes or letterboxd lol.
( I said bittersweet because I miss his old channel. I miss his old vids)

Sinners is outstanding is worth the praise it has gotten. Miles Canton and MBJ lead the film masterfully; and Ryan Coogler's direction can be inheritedly felt.

Sinners doesn't need to continue onward from where we leave it. The story feels complete, and I don't want a sequel as I feel like it'd devalue the ending that it has. Masterful work, from the scares to the action. The IMAX-Aspect Ratio shifts are god level in how they execute it. This is the true magic of Hollywood, and I am so happy that Coogler found success with this film.

Sequel could be about the 2 guys in horses that show up in the house. I need that very much

I'm looking forward to Shelby Oaks - I was always a big fan of Stuckmann but yeah, I've soured on him a bit since he's refused to review anything negatively lol

I think the only real route they could go with a sequel is to show how (Spoilers ahead) Stack and Mary find meaning and the ability to properly control themselves as Vampires; and the trail of blood and bodies that would be left in their wake. I kind of hope they don't do that though, because I'd rather let the time from the night of the JukeJoint to their reunion with Sammy to be left ambiguous.

This is a complete narrative that doesn't need to go further.

I can kind of understand where he's coming from In that he wants to make it big in Hollywood and he will feel awkward by mocking movies of people he might meet, I get that worry. Or that a potential producer might see his funny bad movie vids. But, critics like Grace Randolph ( which I really really love to watch ) and she's pretty well connected in the business and she can still be fair but can still review movies honestly even if she didn't like them.

To me Grace is really great just because I love her takes on the industry and I love her movie math vids. They are really good

If this kind of stuff interests you then I think you would love the Big Picture podcast (if you want current movie reviews) and the Blank Check podcast (for movies that are slightly older, e.g. 70s-00s). Blank Check in particular brings in a lot of critics, some of whom you might end up liking, and includes a lot of movie business discussion. They did a John Carpenter series where they discussed every one of his films.

Hack or Slash is a horror podcast that I quite enjoy too.

I mean, they probably could do a Toxic Avenger house if they were motivated, but I can think of more than a few reasons why they wouldn't (including the fact that this completed film sat on the shelf for two years!). It has nothing to do with Terrifier, which has proven to be a formidable and commercially successful franchise despite its indie origins.

The final two minutes of 28 YEARS LATER are potentially a major miscalculation*, but before that, it's a very, very good film. Hard-hitting gore, great tension, and a shockingly heartfelt, touching story about a young boy's bravery as he tries to help his mother. Excellent performances, too.

* This ending better pay-off big in the next movie, because if it doesn't, it will have somewhat marred the kind of beautiful and understated resolution that 28 YEARS LATER offers right before it.

I don’t disagree with this! It’s a much braver film than I expected, but yeah, that final two minutes caught me off guard.

And I can see what they might be able to explore in the next movie. It just doesn't feel like an ending for this movie.

Fully agreed, overall 28 Years Later is a very welcome return to the series. But that ending is one of the biggest swerves I've seen in a looooong while. In ways I can kinda' see why they did that as a hand-off to the next film, but it's still a jarring tonal shift that leaves a lot of questions here.

But then I looked up who is being referenced in the ending via the attire since I'm not fully familiar with UK figures...and now I have even more questions cuz' holy heck that is a CHOICE.
