I'd imagine they'd want it to be open by HHN - but that's just me lol

I don't think that's in the cards since Disney owns the film now...

I think they're looking forward more than back with this refresh.

Beyond Robert Eggers' NOSFERATU, I'm having a hard time coming up with recent Universal-released horror films with notable makeup (and that are well-known/successful enough to be featured).

I absolutely would have NOSFERATU in there, though.

Renfield immediately comes to mind, especially Drac's deformed look at the beginning of the film. Could definitely see some Blumhouse rep as well.

I don't think RENFIELD is significant enough to stand on its own, but maybe as part of a "Universal's Vampires" segment (starting with Lugosi's DRACULA and going all the way up through NOSFERATU).

The obvious answer is FNAF—but I wonder if they highlight Werewulf for this. With the film releasing before the probable reopening timeline, it’d make sense to have more than just Universal Pictures shown for NBCUniversal.

Honestly, I'd be OK if it just focused on the classics. Tying it to the latest release renders it obsolete pretty quickly.

I wonder if they got some money to invest Blum into the parks and this is how they’re using it.

This is where I am too, they do a good job with the classics rn but the forced updates become awkward when no one has seen them.

I don't mind incorporating something modern, but it has to be something with staying power.

And if it's NOT something staying power, it shouldn't be in the show 11 years later lol

I worry with how much more "corporate" Universal has become in the past 10 years, compared to the park's perceived edginess from the 90s and 2000s, that we will come back with a very neutered version of the show.

Or some new show writer who wants to reinvent the wheel and wants to pad their resume for future projects will come in and chop it all up.

Bar the writer(s) of Sindbad, if he's still around, from writing any too corny dialogue.

Yeah, more Blumhouse representation wouldn't be the worst thing. I'm all for The Wolf Man and DGG's Halloween trilogy getting some love. Imagine the show ending with The Shape stalking his way around the theater, scaring/staring at audience members.

There's not really any showstopping makeup in those HALLOWEEN movies, though. It's pretty standard slasher bloodletting.

This is still (presumably) going to be the Horror Makeup Show, not just the Horror Show.
