I'd imagine if this is the case, there will be some sort of large F&F sign next to the GB firehouse?

If we have to turn the corner I could see them installing a fence with a gate into the entry plaza and maybe have some cars out in front of the library facade.

Could we see a F&F coaster AND supercharged replaced with a ghostbusters ride?

Or is that far too wishful thinking for a park that also needs to replace Simpsons shortly.

I certainly think speculating about a replacement for the coaster that hasn't been announced or built is hasty haha!

Is there any rumor at all that might point to Supercharged being replacement by GB? I thought the only crumb we had was BTTF replacing Supercharged but that was just a slim chance (someone said someone else said this on another forum, so could be a game of telephone at this point).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the three options right now for the GB IP are: 1) meet and greet at Firehouse, or 2) nothing, or 3) coaster RRR replacement. The only 'proof' for 3 is the sign on the work walls and proximity of the project, everything else might point to 1 or 2. And I don't think we have any suggestion that anything else for GB could be coming to the parks.

But yeah, I don't see why they couldn't have three projects over the course of 5-6 years. They've done it before at USF. Remember they added Springfield (2013) at the same time as Diagon was under construction (2014), and that's was shortly after Despicable Me (2012). (Note Springfield was just the 'land,' the ride opened years earlier.) And Fallon and Supercharged were announced in 2015, which opened in 2017 and 2018. So within roughly 6 years, USF added Despicable Me, Springfield, Diagon, Fallon, and Supercharged, at the same time they were building attractions at IOA, building VB, significantly changing CityWalk, and finalizing plans for Epic. Say what you will about the quality of these USF attractions, this was a significant amount of resources poured into USF. No reason why Universal can't do this again.

The BTTF rumor comes from Len Testa. Very reliable insider on WDWMagic

Do you by chance have a quote? I mean no offense at all but this is still telephone.

Edit:
I found it. From April this year:
I've not heard anything about this. My understanding is the next thing after the FF coaster replacing RRR is a Back to the Future re-do of the FF area. I could be wrong.

I stand by what I said about this just being a crumb of a rumor.

The context of the post is also weird, as it seemed as if they were responding to statements about F&F and Mummy in USH... So odd that they immediately respond with a rumor about UOR.

My thought process was if they need to take Simpsons down, it is a huge capacity ride.

F&F is presumably like for like capacity wise to Rip Rockit. If they replace Supercharged with something that people actually…visit, it will in theory be a capacity increase, whilst Simpsons is down.

Supercharged is also kind of brand damaging so I picture Universal wanting to end the saga and pretend it never happened

On RRR last days..... If the song 'I Will Survive', by Gloria Gaynor, is still on the ride's song list.....it would be really ironic
to play it when riding......It was the song I always used when riding that rattling, shaking coaster. :lmao:

Ah I understand now, my mistake. Your concern is more about capacity rather than whether Universal can walk and chew gum. Based on precedence, I believe they had taken down Disaster, Beetlejuice, and Twister around the same time, which I'd assume would be somewhat similar to having F&F and Simpsons down at the same time.

I don't know that they could get a F&F replacement done by the time Simpsons is closed, unless they shut down F&F today (or soon) or unless F&F replacement is somewhat rushed. So I believe there would be at least a year or two where both are closed at the same time (somewhere around the timeframe of 2027-2030, plus or minus). And if F&F closes very soon, that would leave RRR closed and F&F closed at the same time, so it puts us in the same spot as having two attractions closed at the same time.

F&F Supercharged had high capacity back when they ran the full number of busses. But once guests realized the attraction sucked, they quit riding in large numbers. So, Universal cut down the number of busses, and usually eliminated the trailing bus. In reality, there's not a huge ridership at F&F and it doesn't actually affect overall park capacity much.

But if they replace it with something strong it can have a positive gain on overall capacity.

Could a ghostbusters overlay work on this ride system or is the problem…the ride system. Kind of works on kong because of the scale but in isolation it’s a bit dull.

Yeah sure, if you need to reuse the ride system doing BTTF isn't the worst idea. Maybe they totally retheme that area?
