Pretty much. If you care about getting into one of the busier houses as soon as possible (FNAF especially) get in line right at 4. The queue being covered makes it tolerable to wait

Do the walkways to the sound stage houses open at 4 or are those already open to those with a wristband at 3 and the house entrances themselves don’t open until 4?

On Saturday, they were letting people past the wristband checkpoint around 3:30 but couldn’t get into the actual lines until closer to 4. So it may vary.

But only FNAF and Wyatt were opening at 5:15

Tips if you have Express, or are just willing to tolerate every line like a trooper.

El Arista ends close to Terrifier, which will dump you right at the entrance to Grave of Flesh. Think of Arista as a shortcut. Sadly Wyatt Sicks and 5N@F are on the other side of that new "courtyard," and whichever you take, you have to circle around to enter the other.

Hatchet & Chains leaves you right at the entrance to Dolls. Also doing H&C first ensures you see Crooked Cat Lady in the correct order--yes, the zone actually tells a story.

Fall out and Galkn same as last year, no real benefit to starting with one or the other.

So theoretically, with it being free roam.. you don't have to line up for a house, right?

We can just hit rides/watch shows/etc until everything starts?

Yeah you can go do whatever once you get your wristband. There’s a spot right in front of Villiancon to line up, was very quick process for opening weekend

Another question : I’m staying at Helios this time , and the first time I’m not staying within walking distance . Some tips on the following..
1. Is taking the bus more convenient then driving to the garage or doing valet?
2. Does taking the bus have the same security line as the garage or is it separate?
3. How often are buses coming to / from city walk ?
4. Do the buses get packed

1- I say bus is more convenient however with it being at Helios it’s a good 10-15 minute drive, but that would also be the same if you didn’t take the bus.
2- Yes it’s the same security line as the parking garage.
3- usually every 15 minutes
4- Yes epucalpy in HHN nights.

With situations like this, sometimes I just bite the bullet and Uber - either to Citywalk, or to another hotel that's in walking distance.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I was hoping the security line for the bus was different. They could easily do security before the buses like they do for the boats.

If you Uber, catch it to HRH, will cost you a bit less and a nice short walk to the park entrance.

No personal knowledge here, but according to Reddit, HRH is turning away Ubers unless you have a hotel or restaurant reservation on HHN nights, not letting them drop off. Again, cannot confirm, but something to be aware of.

Honestly I've never had a problem with the security lines when entering the busiest of times. It moves quickly enough.

Data According to Thrill-Data.com

Week 1 Attraction-Wait Times by Popularity
1) Five Nights at Freddy's - 129 avg. wait
2) Jason Universe - 87 avg. wait
3) Terrifier - 81 avg. wait

Most Popular Original: El Artista averaged 60-min wait
Least Popular Original (according to waits): WWE at 48-minute wait. Actually tied with Hatchet and Chains for lowest wait-times posted this weekend.

Wait-Times for week are up 19% compared to last year.

It'll be interesting to see what happens moving forward, but I do think Jason Universe needs to open up earlier in the day to accommodate the rush it gets later on in the event with the express pass surge as its location is tricky.

Curious how accurate (or not) people have found the waits this year. Thrill-Data is a good baseline, but it seems wait times for Horror Nights are even less consistent and predictable than for attractions open 365 days a year.

Shame if people sleep on Wyatt because they don't follow WWE/wrestling. The scale and amount of detail/care was impressive
