I think if Universal just posted BOO right now we’d all pee our pants, we’re so desperate.

Also Obsession seems to be a hit so far for Blumhouse. Anybody see it and think it might make a good future house? Gonna see tomorrow, hearing great things.

I saw Obsession and enjoyed it, but I'd prefer it not be an entire house.
Unless we're going full comedy + cringe, which is where the movie excels, I just don't see this working as a house.

The only 'scary' element to the movie is a Freaky Nikki. Aside from standing in the shadows or sometimes moving weird or a couple of jump scares, she isn't actually scary.

The costumes and sets would also be very bland: modern day shop and house, with characters in essentially jeans and t shirts. No hell, up-side-down, caves, basements, nightmare, etc. No ghouls, cowboys, vampires, demons, ghosts, yetis, monsters, etc.

You could have a couple of funny gags with the cat or playing up that an obsessive girlfriend is scary. That to me sounds like a few rooms in a "Blumhouse Best Of" house but not given its own house.

I also think the thesis of the movie warrants a deeper comprehension (which takes 1 hour 49 minute movie runtime), which would easily get overlooked in a house and potentially become toxic (e.g. drunk bros going through the house with a lot of off color remarks about women). That's not always something Universal should consider, especially if it's a superficial and not-at-all serious topic like Mummy Strippers). But, I feel like it leads to the opposite of what the film makers were intending.

Thanks for the feedback. Just picked through the spoiler but got the gist of it not really working. Sounds good on its own though.

They could always do their own creative take on it, there are options:
A. In the house we see everything through Nikki's eyes as she's possessed by the Willow.
B. First half of house is through Bear's POV and 2nd half is through Nikki's.
C. The house explores locations not seen in the film, such as the One Wish Willow HQ, the area "Normal Nikki" is being held captive in, etc. This option could also further explore the backstory and lore of the One Wish Willow, and could also end with Bear burning in Hell or being tormented for all eternity, which I know would please all the fans of the film.

So, there are definitely ways they could make this work. If they just wanted to the events seen in the film verbatim, it would absolutely work best as a Horrors of Blumhouse room or two, but HHN tends to be insanely creative, so I wouldn't say a solo house is necessarily off the table.
