Ah okay. Before my time at HHN and I’m all Orlando so I’m not familiar with HHNH history.

Agreed as well. I loved Wicked Growth and seeing PL at the end was awesome, but what else can they do with him. He’s stuck in a giant pumpkin. Even with an evolved from. Maybe one day when we get a Wicked Growth 2.

Plus if we get PL we know “Where’s Lil’ Boo?” Will follow.

Because Lil’ Boo is the ACTUAL power-holder in that relationship.

Personal opinion that's probably just colored by my own experience, but the most overhyped character this event's had is Fear. I was there when they rolled him out and the amount of buildup there and lore tie-ins to all the other icons didn't match a character that did little in his own scarezone and hasn't made too many appearances since. His lantern is more recognizable than he is.

For more substantive post material, is it possible with the sort of arranged podiums that whatever's going on in Fear Factor is some sort of game show or something?

To be honest, yes you speak the truth he can’t be stuck in a giant pumpkin forever. Plus they have a story to build with him for Wicked Growth 2.

Would love to see him in an evolved form, Also the food booth from 30 did connect to many past HHN Halloween Horror Nights Pasts.

I always thought Fear was ok. However, I wasn't at HHN 20 so I didn't see his zone and let down.

I know we should never trust locations on spec maps - but good lord it's gonna be insane if Hellraiser and Sinners are right next to each other in the new tents.

Agreed on Fear -- they built him up so much, only to give us a lame Darkness rip-off. Sadder because I think Universal actually has the rights to Legend. Character would've worked much better with prerecorded Tim Curry cues.

And I guess it shows what an old school HHN fan I am (and how old my eyes are getting) that I thought those were shotglasses. Not that I have a clue what four shotglasses would indicate.

I'm the disgusting kind of person who STILL loves Lil Boo lol I'll happily take him in any capacity at the event. Pumpkin Lord would be welcomed back if they didn't do the burping/farting thing. I'm not above a dumb fart joke, but it just felt hella out of place and made him goofy vs spooky and that's just not the vibe.
I'm in the super minority that thinks Jack is the most overrated icon. I like Oddfellow, and I think the art and sneak peeks they've shown for the house look very promising, so I'm open minded about his house at least. I honestly wish they sold the Jack vs. Oddfellow magnet online because the art was so cool, but looks like that was just an in-person piece of merch </3

Just going to keep holding onto hope that the one rumor about a Vanity Ball house turns out to be true, but I'm sure it's not exactly that. But one can hope lol

Every time I see the Fortnitemare rumors pop up, I try so so hard to think of how in the world that would work. And this is coming from someone who plays Fortnite weekly with her friends hahaha I love Fortnitemares but it sounds kind of ridiculous for HHN. There's no way that rumor actually has any validity, right? I think someone earlier in this chat made the point that it's really just a bunch of IPs anyways. They have a few original characters/skins, but it's stuff like Lexa Hexbringer and while I adore her, she (and the others) aren't horror. Color me confused lol

SO intrigued by the zoo/criptid rumor and really hoping they go dark and not campy with that one. Time to see the return of the Nightingales Blood Pit lion (but hopefully working. I was only able to run that house once and we got in a bit of a traffic jam right by the lion and I think it was almost more effectively scary just staring and WAITING for something to happen vs if something actually HAD happened)

Question for people who have been going for a good while:
I've been going since 2019. I remember the 30 years, 30 fears stuff in 2021 and I remember being so new to the event still that I didn't get any of the references to old houses and zones and such. Were the references somewhat newer? Or from much older stuff? Basically.... I'm wondering if in the 35 years zone, I'll (likely) see primarily references I'll know/recognize now that I've been going for several years, or if they tend to go for their older older stuff. I know none of us can say for sure, but curious for any predictions

I think the focus tends to be on older characters, from a time when HHN couldn't rely on outside IPs but had to create their own. So many of the later "superstar" houses are IPs, and it doesn't make sense to negotiate for, say, Art the Clown or Vena for them to be one of a dozen walk-around characters. The time and money wouldn't be worth the benefit. I expect a Body Collector, a Nightingale, probably some icons. Maybe an El Artista or Hatchet & Chains. or Major Sweets.

Oh I definitely didn't expect major IPs like Vecna or Art or anything! I was meaning more like the originals. Would be cool to see Major Sweets, Sergio, any of the yetis from Terror of the Yukon or Campground Kills, nightingales, anyone from Dead Man's Pier, etc. Just wasn't sure if it was unlikely since a lot of those are quite recent.

If they rep some of the past scare zones, I'd extra love to see some of the Anarcade or Vanity Ball people make a reappearance! Not sure how likely scarezone throwbacks are though, let alone for something as still semi-recent as 2019. One can hope!

They tend to lean on the characters whose costumes they still have/are readily available. So yes, I think it's prudent to expect Major Sweets, El Artista, probably the punk rocker skeleton for Slaughter Sinema 2, El Artista, etc.

...along with some instantly recognizable standby favorites, as you mentioned, and icons.

Looking on the maps, it looks we are not getting KKFOS. It’s a house for Hollywood, that’s the alien clown symbol from my understanding (HLot S) and we don’t have an alien clown on ours.
