I remember a very old UUOP video where, I believe, @Hatetofly said something along the lines of "The operating expenses are covered by the tickets, and the merch/food is profit."

The merch and food/drink are where they make their money, and I'm sure the accounting dept has done their due diligence on which age groups spend the most money in which areas, lol

Nowadays, it is the Express Passes that make the money. I have heard some UO Team members say that the Express Passes at HHN alone make the operating budget for US (not IoA, Epic, CW, resorts) for an entire year including what they spend on Mardi Gras...

True pre-2013, but HHN is likely profitable off of admission media alone nowadays with the amount of guests coming now. All the other upgrades, express and food & beverage is a likely bonus.

Like I said, it was a VERY old video lol. Probably like 2014/2015.

Hi. It’s been a while since I’ve logged in. Had to comment on that lasted spec map. Woof. I’m hoping it’s incorrect.

I still believe Hellraiser. I defiantly don't believe TCM instead. We will see more once we get an updated HNN spec map. Easter one is coming! I personally don't believe HoH. Sure, they got stuff right in the past, but they have got stuff wrong. I will personally believe HNN and Hellraiser still, epically as the rumor has been strong and appeared on both (Christmas and V.1) the HNN spec maps.

Clive Barker actually just got the rights back, which is why we're seeing a big proliferation of Hellraiser related things lately.

Just finished his Damnation Game and thought it was wonderful. Looking forward to the Barker Renaissance.

Unrelated but its crazy to me how the perception of the Pumpkin Lord changed from the house at 30 to his character at 31. I always thought he was cool, but was only in town for one weekend so I guess I missed the fart jokes and whatever else people were complaining about with that character in the zone. Whole thing seems bizarre to me. Accidentally double posted sorry mods.

I absolutely loved HHN 31 as an event, and I loved the entire theme of classic Halloween.

Pumpkin Lord himself was weird though

Yeah, 31 was my favourite year i have attended in my eight years attending. Pumpkin Lord was disappointing that year with him constantly burping and farting

See I did not see any of this when I was there and heard about it after the fact, and for the longest time I thought people were trolling!

More menacing / viscerally effective in the house. Once he was anthropomorphized to that extent at 31, his character started to feel oddly similar to the Grinch…

Wicked Growth was a phenomenal house and the build-up to the reveal of the Pumpkin Lord is such a great moment that I still think about.

However, the character design is limited. He’s stuck inside a giant pumpkin. All he could do was sit there and belch pumpkin seeds (which he also did inside the house, with a mist effect).

If they were to bring him back, he needs to evolve into something else. The last time we saw him, he was a hatchling. What is his final form?

It’s pretty apparent that the only reason we got Lumpkin Pord as a “icon” (ambiguous definition) is because of the popularity of Lil’ Boo. Universal didn’t (doesn’t) have a plan to really expand the character beyond the one house. That’s why his presence in the park was so half-assed. He is Lil’ Boo’s sidekick.

Why are folks so eager for more Pord instead of the return of, say, Usher or Caretaker? Or how about a NEW icon? Seems odd to me.

And plus we need to know about Ernst Meier and his connection to The Pumpkin Lord.

I think there will be more story to tell with Pumpkin Lord when he evolves over the years.

And his Tie in with Cat lady.

I mean Halloween Horror Nights Lore is a Universe after all. Many stories to tell :pumpkin:

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a Pumpkin Lord return at some point - if only to get the Halloween aesthetics back into the event.

Yess!!!
There’s so much to do with him, and The Wicked Growth house took place in 1987 in the lore.

I wonder how he operates now, in Modern day I can’t wait to see what they do with him!

If not this year maybe a surprise year.
He has a connection to spirits of the coven too.

I mean he is an icon of the lore, but not of Adaru’s lantern.

I am really surprised we haven't seen an evolution of The Usher yet. Also, seeing a grown Cindy taking over for The Caretaker. Those two seem like obvious directions to go.
