It would definitely be one of those houses where no one but the fans know what’s going on lol (very much like the last RUN we had). I’m up for it though. I was hoping if Bloodengutz did come back it wouldn’t be a retread since its execution could feel a little too similar to something like Slaughter Sinema nowadays. Kind of hard to envision where to take his story since it seemed very much like a one and done but we’ll see!

So of course we still have 5 months before opening, but I think one good talking point will be how the soundstage queues will be arranged this time around since the F&F construction is in full force.

One big entrance./exit through that corridor behind the plaza stage that leads to the house portals?

Sinners is a 4x Academy Award Winning Film! Excited to see how they spin that for marketing purposes, even if it couldn’t get BP.

Feel like it was a lot more deserving for best picture than One Battle After Another…but hey 4 Oscars is incredible for a horror film!

The only win that’s really relevant to a house is Score. MAYBE Screenplay. But it’s not like Michael B. Jordan is going to be in the house and Cinematography is irrelevant to a walkthrough. If it won Make-Up or Costumes, the conversation would be different. Honestly, I think the most you’ll have is a “Oscar-winning” note in the announcement press release.

I think the fact that it’s the most awarded horror film in academy history will matter most, regardless of which ones actually matter.

That title still belongs to Silence of the Lambs.

Somehow I blanked on that one. Though it is fascinating that it's taken about 25 years for us to finally get close to the level of Lambs (but yeah, that one was my b for forgetting).

Eh, this would most likely occur in Hollywood, but they could get a video of Coogler and the cast going through the house. Maybe even do a secret "one night only" reprisal as well like Alexa Bliss or Lupita Nyongo did.

Speaking of Oscar wins, we eventually need Gladys in an All Nite Die-In scarezone. She would be an Art/M3GAN level draw.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't do a Weapons house this year.

do horror nights from IOA this year so we all enter from killer klowns in outer space scarezone in suess landing. problem solved, no walking through construction site. whos with me!!!!!!
..........

anyone........?

no but really.... who's to say what it'll look like in 5 months but right now, that looks like a logistical nightmare.

like, really bad. the queue travel distances to backstage have always been pretty rough so it's nothing new,

but i have to imagine they'll carve out at least two large paths backstage and have some of the queue entrances together like last year. but i am not looking forward to that mess

Based on how they operated HHN this past year, I don't think it's a major issue. You can see in Bio's latest aerial images that they carved a temporary path to access the concert stage for Mardi Gras concerts. They can do the same for HHN.

Only thing I wish they'd change is adding some gobo lighting and audio for atmosphere for those bare backstage walks.

yeah i'm just a cranky unc, the older i get the less i like walking a mile to get to the houses. that being said, i thought last year was pretty rough too (the pathways from terrifier to fnaf) but it is what it is. i can't complain too much, a few extra steps are well worth it for that new rollercoaster

I honestly didn't think the walking was that bad last year - mainly because once you finally got to one end or the other (behind MIB or to the soundstages), you had multiple houses to go through in one area. It's certainly better than those insane walks we used to do entering/exiting/re-entering next house when they used to be by Animal Actors. As someone who doesn't mind walking, it was still a bit brutal to finish the night with 18k-20k steps. I guess walking as much as we do, at least then I can justify an HHN custom Voodoo Donut at the end of the night. Last year's Jason donut was one of the best I've had EVER.. that and the Salty Werewolf or whatever they called it. But, I digress.. it's still morning, and I'm dreaming of those donuts.. hahah

Given the addition of the two new tents 2 seasons ago, the improvements made to the tents area last year, the rerouting for HRRR demolition, and the new Stay & Scream set up last year, the logistics team has more than earned our trust so there really isn't any reason to be concerned...especially this far out. (I'm not lumping the sub-par tribute store on what I am calling the Logistics Team, it was the best they could with the space they were afforded).

my big theory is that the "hub system" is gonna be how the queues are formatted for the most part (and for this year i do think theyll just put up a ton of temp walkways while construction is happening)

If it's true the replacement is a retheme to BttF, I doubt we'll be losing the house location. At most I could see it becoming exclusively the tent and no queue like for 2024.
