I don’t think they would ever go back to IOA again, what’s to be gained by doing that? The extra indoor space at MSI? The event is too large to have in queue mazes at Popeye and Hagrids, Veliciocoaster takes up another former maze site. I think any expansion will be in the studios (Villain Con, more tents, maybe another soundstage)

Also it shuts down IOA at 5pm. IMHO used IOA back in the day to pad the attendance numbers.

I’m waiting for them to debut a MNSSHPesque family event at Epic frankly. Have a Boo-fest in SNW, let dark universe be dark universe, pumpkin up Paris, and Invent a Viking Halloween party for Berk. Throw in a firework show and a parade, it would print money.

All the talk about the tickets has made us ignore that nothing was announced this morning. Maybe something at noon with Hollywood?

Saving Fortnite for when people forget about Fear pass express being gone lol.

(That’s a joke, I’m excited about Fortnite, but it’s funny to think that maybe they pulled back to wait on it).

After KKFOS was announced I’m honestly solid for the rest of the season. Kinda wish it was just an entire zone like 2018 again.

As far as wait time data - in my experience, Fridays have definitely always been the least busy nights.

Especially if you can get there early. Traditionally Friday night crowds take a while to build--Sunday (and I hear Saturday) are busy from the jump.

Also, to aid in planning, looks like most central Florida schools are out for Columbus Day this year. With the northern schools out, too, expect that to be Hell Weekend.

Fridays and Wednesdays are always my go to days for when things aren’t bad. Thursday’s always feel bad for me and I have absolutely no idea why, maybe people think it’s gonna be less crowded? Idk. But Fridays seem to be really good.

Pretty much all the passes include Thursday, but also, traditionally in Orlando theme parks, Employee Paychecks Come On Thursday.

Thursday used to be "Cast Member Night" at Pleasure Island--was always slammed.

Judging from the rumored layout, the subsection should be roughly the same size as the 2018 zone, so nothing’s really lost. ;)

Agree with this 100%. I’m one of the “out of towners” who comes for 10 days (5 for HHN) and used FFP+Express. As I’ve said before, I obviously know what days I’m coming and, therefore, using express. And, from a customer service perspective, me paying $1100 for 5 nights with express still makes me very much feel I’m getting a great deal. Heck, even a higher price would.

Each member of my group spends an average of $8k on our visit every year (for 15 years now). Depending on what the packages end up being, this may be greatly reduced if we change up our plans for this year.

I wonder if Universal factors into their data analysis the cross-reference of multinight+express ticket holders against hotel reservations? Like in theory someone who purchases FFP+E would be entitled to attend and use express for all of the listed nights but the ref shows that that person is only here for a week and will be out of town and physically not present for 75% of the ticket’s capacity.

@Brian G. i read your opinion article, and it's definitely the most articulate and well thought out discussion on the entire subject. You nailed the ACTUAL reasons some of us are really upset, and I appreciate that. Someone mentioned earlier that the anger was more an "entitlement" thing which I vehemently disagree with. There is so much more to this than some people just being elitist. I'm far from that.

It's been mentioned a few times in the thread about some kind of multi-night express bundle where you can pick your dates. To me, THAT makes the most sense. I'd be totally fine with that.

Yeah, I get it, the passes were too cheap for what they gave you and blah blah blah. They may be too cheap for you who live there who can go every friggin night, but it was a life-saver for those of us who travel. Also, the communication (or lack thereof) makes it even more egregious because they held this info while slowing jacking prices on single day express since they were released. That's some BS. They KNEW they were going to do this, so they should've done a FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT when single day tix and express went on sale. Actually, it could've been sooner for those planning trips.. I mean, really.. that's just s****y

Lastly, yeah, I know, I can buy single night express for all nights I want to go (which will triple my cost as it stand so far). However, the issue is I feel like I need to pick the dates and get the passes now because I am thinking single day express will sell out since no one has it on a pass anymore. That means I also lose flexibility. Previously, if we decided to switch the days we normally go, we could do that because we had a pass that covered all the nights available to us. If I have to buy single day express in advance, it means I have to pick the dates, and I lose that flex option.

There is more to this than the rather simplistic arguments I've seen over the last several pages - most of which don't consider those outside of Florida.

Yes - I mentioned it a few pages back, but another user said that the vast majority of HHN visitors are not spending thousands of dollars, which just simply isn't true.

Well… when the majority of visitors buy single-night, no Express tickets, they’re probably not spending thousands of dollars.

I also think this is an important, oft-forgotten element to this discussion: “fans” are not the majority of HHN visitors. Most actual attendees are fans we denigrate as casuals. And while the emotions of fans “like us” is understandable, the way we interact and perceive our relationship with the event is also anecdotal. Our experience feels common because we surround ourselves with fans “like us,” but we are exceptions. For every passholder who attends and ONLY buys $40-$60 in food a night, there is a single night attendee who is buying that same food plus full admission. And those single night attendees may be local… or they may be in a hotel (likely on a shorter trip which typically means higher per night costs). That’s not even accounting for the behavioral difference between single night attendees who may attempt “experiencemaxx” by purchasing multiple food items in one night versus a passholder who may only try one a night.

Basically, there are multiple ways to enjoy the event. Just because the way fans “like us” hear about the most is multinight Express with trips, that doesn’t mean it actually is the most common. Just because any of us, as individual fans, may be willing to drop a thousand dollars for a single night of the experience, doesn’t mean the vast majority of people who attend will. And, ultimately and understandably, Universal will want seven individuals paying $400 each night over five days versus one individual paying $2,000 for the five days. It is not that the passholder isn’t important. It’s that those single night guests are important too.
