He's an icon to me with this. Main character in a house and tied into entrance scarezone that is theme for the event. Seems like just as much of an icon as Oddfellow or Sinister and Surreal or Pumpkin Lord. The newer icons don't seem to be used in marketing like the old ones were, that's main difference I see but they still feel like and are icons to me.

Aiello has officially stated that he's a character used to tell the story, but not in the same way as Jack or Oddfellow - but the label of icon is up to us.

He’s not a villain (as far as we know), so I wouldn’t put him in the class with the other icons. Similar categorization to Boris Shuster. But it doesn’t really matter to me how we define it - a central theme or aesthetic is a plus, technical “icon” or not.

“Torture Porn” wasn’t really a thing until post 9/11 regarding a very specific style of horror that I don’t think these quite fit into

I don't think this is accurate at all. I was watching horror movies starting in the 70's and the 80's were my teenage years, so obviously, my horror addiction continued. . There was one very well known one called "Faces of Death" which I think would fit that category. While "torture porn" as a description may be more recent, it doesn't mean that kind of stuff didn't exist. I mean.. Texas Chainsaw could be the start of it.

I'm not into the gore-fest stuff, and I'm annoyed that I'll likely watch the Terrifier movies just because that's what I do before HHN every year - watch the movie/tv show that will be appearing. I'm NOT looking forward to this at all.

Edited to say thank you to @Allison for all the information on this. I literally jumped when I read your comment pages back about how he cuts a woman up from the crotch.. and then I thought.. Oh hell no. I retract my above statement about watching these movies. Screw that. Sounds like garbage and NOT an enjoyable way to spend what appears to be six+ hours. Nope. Life is too short to suck down garbage for a 5 minute HHN house walk-through.. if I even bother. After reading all this, I'm thinking, maybe not.. and that will be first for me. I've never not gone through every house at least once even if I wasn't thrilled with it, but this one? There is a first time for everything. Also, sorry for quoting a commenting so late on this. I'm not sure where this idea is coming from, but as far as we're aware, it isn't accurate. Jason Universe is a collaboration of the two primary rights holders of the franchise, meaning it provides access to the content from all the films, with the only restriction being the inability to use the "Friday the 13th" name. On the Hollywood side of things, John Murdy confirmed this house will be a "best of" Jason's iconic moments and kills, so I expect Orlando to be no different.

Is the arcade going to be a tribute store? Seem odd to me as we have both the NY area and Hollywood area for the tribute store. It also seems like a downgrade to me if it's in fact the arcade.
