Seriously, as someone who does like F13, it doesn't need to be announced on the day itself. It just needs to be announced, that's all that matters.

Not to mention, HHN normally doesn't announce stuff on Friday. Thursday is generally their sweet spot. Now yes, they have announced stuff on Friday, but they're not normal.

Case in point with last year, Slaughter Sinema 2 was announced on Friday...at Spooky Empire, so that wasn't normal. The following week had an announcement on Friday, but that was because they were revealing every single other original house that week each day, which was also abnormal as heck compared to what they normally do. But as for all the IP houses last year? Announced on a Thursday.

If you wanna' go back further one year into 32, there was one announcement on Friday...but it was the mass info dump where they were revealing everything they didn't announce beforehand. And for what they did announce beforehand? All done on a Thursday.

I think the phrasing of this is important: He’s saying an announcement is coming while he’s on vacation. The pricking has traditionally come the day before an announcement, but this is different. If his vacation is a week, two weeks, a month… then the announcement(s) can be at anytime during that period.

With Murdy's post, it sure sounds like an announcement early next week. Pretty sure he's in the UK and said travelling tomorrow...there's no reason he couldn't do the pricking of his thumb before his flight on Friday.

But more importantly, regarding both that and the Friday the 13th announcement on a Friday, you don't announce something you're proud of and want media coverage of on a Friday.

Now it would be cool if they did have Jason on their socials on the 13th and then made the formal announcement on the following Tuesday, but they want to MAXIMIZE the media coverage and public attention.

Tbf I have been noticing more trailers drop on Fridays, it's just really early in the morning (like 5-6am PST). That way people get push notifications/see it on their phone during the day.

They could theoretically release a teaser then.

You're talking about a movie trailer, right? That's something you market directly to the masses.

A Universal announcement would be a press release with the intention of being picked up by mainstream media to disseminate the info to the GP that aren't following Universal Twitter and the like.

Even if it was 6am PST, that would be 5pm in the UK (I think, Daylight Saving Time always messes me up) which we know has a ton of travelers attending the event. So something that drops at end of business on Friday often gets forgotten about or overlooked come Monday.

The announcements aren't for us die hard fans that are already going no matter what, they're to bring in new people who might not know or be interested in the event otherwise. So they NEED to have the info picked up by major media outlets.

I'm wondering if Wyatts might be saved for Summer Slam. There are a lot of eyes on that event. There is a Saturday Night's Main Event scheduled for mid-July as well. But Summer Slam would be my choice.
