I'm a fan of the current rumor set, but the lack of a Lagoon Show or any second live show feels like a bad omen for the year-over-year direction of the event.
I feel like I'm always saying it, but the event needs more than just houses and zones. It's the supplemental stuff that really keeps the whole thing enjoyable. More rides, more shows, more character encounters like David S Pumpkins, high effort Tribute Stores, better merch to browse through, more show moments within zones, etc. This stuff is necessary to add some downtime in your event night and to allow for some time to decompress between some truly terrible queue experiences for the houses and HNF. Those also don't seem to be getting much better either.
I fully agree that it's crazy to not have a Lagoon show this year. lol
about the lack of a lagoon show,
I was thinking about it, and, I could Imagine a few reasons to never bring it back, mainly that "the squeeze is not worth the juice"
maybe doing a new show every year was too much work and too much effort for something that did not create as much hype or ate as much of the crowd as it was supposed to.
I can understand it if universal didn't see it as practical to do a brand new show every year and specially dealing with problems with IPs or something.
or the time and budget that it takes, not knowing if the hurricanes will cause problems.
or having to spend money and time setting it up,
but then I wish that universal would do a generic horror show that they could play every year, the same show, the same set up, just to have something cool to see, I don't needs brand new show every year, but it would be cool if we got a general " hhn horror " show paying a tribute to the history of hhn and the history of horror.
same video and same set up for every year.
the lagoon shows were some of the coolest things I ever saw at hhn, it was truly an incredible experience and I will be sad if it never comes back.
