RIP that big stretch of road in between the entrance and New York, I guess. Real shame, Path of the Wicked was the first introduction I had to the event. What an amazing first scarezone to go down.

Oooh, this is all wonderfully intriguing.

The IP's are staying the same as rumored, so there's that. Fingers crossed they ring true!
No entry zone makes sense considering how non-existent last years was, keep the budget and focus on the zones where they can actually do something.

Speaking of which, Mardi Gras (or perhaps Mardi Gras Murders) in Hollywood could make for a really fun zone. If it has the party/chaos vibe akin to Sweet Revenge, I am all for that!

And I am very intrigued on what that cat/dog , cat/wolf logo is. Got a feeling it's right up my alley so I look forward to seeing if it stays or not.

Just gonna leave this 2010 SZ here...

They even had a "crashed" MG float outside of Disaster (which is what causes the chaos of ZombieGeddon... yay power failure).

With Hollywood's wide streets, they can definitely do more with the SZ scenic-wise for whatever MG route they take the story/theme. If only it wasn't for that damn day-ops parade *sigh*

While Mardi Gras Murders could work as a great zone, I'd honestly prefer it come back as a house if we ever see it again. There's already been a number of parade based zones, and I think it could work as a very immersive house if they build off of the SS2 sequence.

Not entirely true.. it's actually been very minimal

2004 - Midway of the Bizarre
Actual parade floats acted as SZ sets in the former Boneyard plaza... (currently now Rockit's Plaza of Astroturf). The floats would get used for the actual parade each event night, then park in their spots to continue being SZ set pieces. Brings a new meaning to "roaming SZ".

2010 - Zombie Gras
1 parade float, a handful of zombies, possibly a victim or two. Was directly connected to the house backstory in Disaster

2016 - Vamp 55
This one featured a homecoming parade float, but I wouldn't really consider this "parade based".

That was the one I was blanking on, which is odd since it was the most recent I'm twitching from seeing so many people in the photo. That is the "scary" in scarezone

But yea, that & 2004 are definitely the only true "parade based" SZs..

Unless the "Mega Movie" parade goes on hiatus, I doubt we'd get a SZ on the scale of 2022. That of course depends on the location/theme being accurate.

Some interesting stuff here..

- No Lagoon show still. Guess that really may not come back?

- Nothing hinting towards the Roaring 20s Vamp zone, or anything for Mel's Die In.

- A M3GAN zone would be disappointing imo - the roaming M3GANs were good enough.

- I hope they still have SOMETHING at the front of the park.

• Top left symbol changed slightly and now has tree
• No Vikings or it's the book with snowflakes. No scareytales or Christmas house.
• Hatchet and Chains symbol back as vol 1 vs easter
• IPs stayed the same except for F13
• 6 IPs (unless WWE is counted as an Original)
• 4 zones, no entrance zone
• Mardigras murders zone???
• Cat creature zone???
• Toxic zone (can't tell what's in the symbol)???
• M3gans 3rd year???
• One show and 4 rides

Could this artist be an Icon..?

So (despite how frequently I've been wrong this year), I haven't heard anything about an "icon" for this year. That's a little bit odd, because I had heard about icons by March the last couple of years.

This artist character could be an icon, or it could be a character a house just focuses on (which is something we've seen a few times in the past). The Collector (Darkest Deal), Boris (Case Files), Sweets, the Barmys, the Siren (Dead Man's Pier), Evangeline Albright/Glowing Mother (Graveyard Games) were all characters central to their houses that, in any other year, could be leveraged as marketing icons and WEREN'T. So, just because a house features an important character, that doesn't mean an icon is imminent.

I would, legitimately, be surprised if Universal introduced an "Artist" icon the same year they have "Art the Clown."

Wonder if they try to pull an "IPs as Icons" thing like they've done in the past (prior to me attending)

Side note: will anything be treated as the "headliner" this year, or will it just be an assortment like 2023? Quite honestly, any one of these IPs could stand alone and headline their own event!

I'm ok with dropping the event to 4 (even 3) solid scare zones if it meant they were elevated to the next level and we got traditional Halloween decor throughout the park.

They should just keep the current JAWS stuff in San Francisco as a SZ... it'd save time & $$$.
