Oh, the house would be absolutely gorgeous no question. Especially if they put it in a soundstage and were able to really flesh out the environment.

Yeah especially scenic wise, from the streets to the outskirts and rooted buildings and subway station, it'd look pretty cool, I'm sure also throwing in scenes that are not in the game and from the show would give it a nice touch as well.

If they could make a deal with Sony for the last of us they could also make a deal with Sony to put insidious 5 in blumhouse

I might be wrong but I've heard that video game rights are more complicated than film & TV rights (or at least lawyers are much more used to licensing film & TV than video games), which I have to imagine is part of why there's been so few video game houses.

That could probably be a bargaining chip for Sony honestly.

"If you want the TLOU, you need to feature Insidious 5 as well."

Similar to the Ghostbusters/Zombieland situation

Insidious 5 though would probably be given though as well since the last time its been at the event it definitely generated a lot of buzz for both coasts, it being in this year would work for them and making it the main focus for Horrors of Blumhouse, I'm sure people would be mad if it took away from M3gan but both would benefit, they're odd placed together yes but it is what it is.

I finally read all 49 pages here, and my head hurts. Some of these ideas are.. well.. um, interesting?

I am interested in the White Whale idea and what is left. I would guess this year, they tried for The Conjuring again.. and lost again. I wonder what others there are? I would LOVE Lost Boys and/or Gremlins.

My ultimate wish has been Phantasm. I wonder if that one has ever been discussed or considered? I realize the movie outdates the majority of you here, but even though it has a somewhat cheesy 70's vibe, I still think it's a terrific horror film with tons of potential for a house. I only bring this up because you all were discussing White Whales.. and knowing the ages of some of the top A&D people, I would think this could be a possiblity. Maybe I'm wrong.

My other wish is Silence of the Lambs.

As for the music house idea.. honestly, the fact that Ozzy hasn't been a feature yet is beyond reasoning. He's the OG. And, his latest album, Patient Number 9, has been a big success not to mention his first Grammy nom. Have you SEEN the videos for this album? Sorry, but he runs circles around your buddy The Weeknd. Ok, so I'm old. Go ahead and light your torches and pick up your pitchforks.. I can take it.

One last thing - there is no way Uni incorporates an escape game for HHN. They attempted a version of this with The Repository years ago which, while fun, wasn't truly an escape room either. If you guys want to do a scary escape game, I have just the place for you.. and it's not on Uni property. Message me if you're interested.

Phantasm are one of those films that I could see be an interesting house and a lot of good iconic scenes and effects they could recreate of course The Tall Man being a menacing image on merchandise would be nice and different and I'm not so sure if they've given up on Silence of the Lambs just yet, I mean we had gotten a little taste what they could've done when they've had him at the event unofficially and officially. Here's to hoping those come later on down the line.

The Lambs was rumored to come at 30, but was replaced by the original TCM cause the rights were too messy. I think there might be some disagreements between Universal and the book’s author Thomas Harris over how he and they want to depict Buffalo Bill. He is the hardest character to adjust if it were to happen, and the most controversial too.

It is definitely one of those houses that they'd make it short and sweet, so I could see it being problematic, the movie is about Buffalo Bill but the marketing will be of Hannibal Lector, its not surprising why the film is a touchy subject and hard for them grasp.

They could make it longer by including Its prequel and sequel that also featured Anthony Hopkins as a house compilation. Francis Dolarhyde and Mason Verger are the type of villains who are known to be worse than Hannibal in the movies, but not problematic as Bill in reality.

Ok hear me out. I’m not trying to say that anyone should do a Horror Nights House. However, I feel like SZA would be really good. Especially with her new album SOS and the house could feature the song “Kill Bill” and “Ghost in the machine” Kill bill has a music video and it’s more like an action but it’s also the pretty gory.
Also I feel like Blumhouse should get a SS or Parade building treatment this year. I feel like it would fit everything perfectly especially since last year I felt like freaky was purposely crammed in the F&F queue and could’ve been better if it was in a SS with more room.

This isn't speculation. Please take this sort of talk to the wish list threads.

I honestly think the F&F queue was perfect for Blumhouse last year. A soundstage or parade building isn't really needed.

If Universal sticks with only two IPs for Horrors of Blumhouse, then the F&F queue or even a Sprung Tent are perfect. Freaky felt fine to me.

If Cleaver were to come back as a sequel, It should be located at F&F. It’s a fitting spot cause that’s where It was when they had Disaster/Earthquake.

I never thought I’d come on here and see both Rep era Taylor and The Lost Boys being mentioned in this thread at the same time, what a proud moment and while they’d have to call the event HHN 32: Allison Might As Well Have Designed It, I feel confident in saying I can’t see any of the above ever happening.

In all honesty though, the closest thing I could see happening is them being able to use INTHAF in conjunction with M3gan. Everything else is wishlist thread stuff, imo.

Does Phantom of the Opera have enough steam to get a house? I know they have the props and sets but he is one of the least popular monsters.

I'm little behind in the forums rn, but I always thought that HHN should try and let directors like Jordan Peele, or James Wan and let them come up with a house. I think we could see some creative ideas.

There were briefly rumors of a Jordan Peele original at Hollywood. I believe Clive Barker also had a few houses at Hollywood, and that House of 1000 Corpses was actually originally an HHN house before it was a movie.

Though I'm wondering if an idea like that could be best used in the permanent HHN at Las Vegas.

While the Phantom may not leap to mind right away like Dracula or Frankenstein's Monster does when discussing the Universal Monsters, the Phantom himself is still such an iconic figure in the world of horror. You could easily support a whole house with the Phantom of the Opera, though I'd personally hope they would lean into the 1925 film a bit more for it.
