Apparently AMC tweeted that Universal wants to move in a different direction this year when asked about Walking Dead's presence at HHN. I dont have a twitter nor do I know this is confirmed, but Ive seen the message and it definitely raises some interesting questions about HHN 2014.

That to me sounds like PR's way of saying they're not going to use The Walking Dead this year.

That is not AMC, for what it's worth. That's the account for the comics.

The tweet is fairly non-committal. I'd love for it to be true, but I'm wary to believe it.

That to me sounds like PR's way of saying they're not going to use The Walking Dead this year.

As stated before, it does not necessarily mean anything as it is NOT AMC's twitter.
I am hopeful that it is true, though.

Things are up in the air in 1-3 respects right now. On the other hand, some are locked down and ready for bid, if they haven't been sent out to that end already.

The one foot in front of the other non-living IP has been the plan for some time... but that may crash and burn very soon due in part to the marketing dept., even though, I am quite sure it has already been designed.

Yes, the scripts for a small number of houses may be written, the interiors designed and approved, the docs sitting one step away from the bid bin... and bang, they're out.

One IP was only recently approved in the last month, although, I am not quite sure what that one is.

Everything said... I have never been to a HHN event, as it just ain't my thing. Ain't that odd?

Ghostbusters or Exorcist heavily rumored. Either one could probably support a TWD-like marketing push.

Well it is the movie's 30th anniversary this year and it could very well be the classic IP that Mike Aiello was tweeting about.

Exactly... just remember, I said "may". Aiello hasn't replied to my emails for a few days. These artistic types can be so frustrating and caught up with their own importance... and time... etc. Yeeesh. :sneaky:

It'd certainly be an interesting choice, but Exorcist and Alien are more likely IMO.

To add to the speculation, on the UTH Tour last year they mentioned that AWIL and CITW were the two most popular houses and one was an iconic 80's movie and one was inspired by 80's movies. To that end, A&D were looking at properties that tap that 80's vein. To me, this would imply Ghostbusters more than The Exorcist or Alien and also lends credence to the rumor of there being a Trick r' Treat house (given how that is a modern film inspired by Creepshow).
