So, unless something is announced for the Dreamworks Theater later... no shows? At all? Fright Fest has two now, and one is inside a theater with seats. Crazy that such a top tier event can't manage shows.

Even with the roaming Nikki, I don’t how to feel about Murdy saying Nikki is going to “find a new obsession with us.” Like... idk if we’re downplaying what the film is actually about just to make it work for a theme park. Money is talking that's for sure.

All the cheers for it made me feel...idk not great . I really thought higher ups wouldn't allow her to be a impressions-driven character at HHN, but hey. I get it I do, GP will love it, but yeah just really thought they'd not want to go that route at all.

I’m really curious about how the GP perceives it, if I’m being honest. I get that the movie is pretty popular, but Nikki isn’t someone like Art that prosthetics and a costume work for. Unless it’s the actual actress, this is going to end up being “girl with regular clothes and some blood” and I just don’t see how that’s necessarily something people are going to be drawn to like Art. I’m willing to be proven wrong, and im excited to see the execution in person, but my first impression is certainly that it’s a really weird decision.

It'll easily be one of the most popular things at the event whether she looks like her or not.

I agree with you, but that’s not really my point. My point is how do you get to “OMG girl from obsession”? There’s nothing iconic about her outfits or anything else. When you look at the main villain from freaky (name is escaping me) that’s an iconic outfit/look worn through the whole movie and isn’t something a normal park goer would wear. The Megans from Orlando, same thing, super iconic costuming, easily identifiable even if you’ve seen the movie. I’ve seen Obsession… if I didn’t know she was going to be at the event, I wouldn’t think I’d have any idea “oh man yeah that’s Nikki from Obsession”. That’s my main concern, the rest of it I agree with you, but even someone like Freddy, he’s unmistakeable.

If it’s for a photo op with the background that says Obsession? Totally changes my opinion. That makes a ton more sense than a walk around character. Thats almost like Norman Bates in front of the house, that (to me) makes a LOT more sense, because at that point it absolutely becomes more identifiable. My understanding was she was a walk around character but if that’s not the case, that changes it up for sure.

Feels like a pretty stacked year, all things considered. A lot to look forward to. Express Pass has gotten too expensive for my taste so I think this is the year we finally go the Frequent Fear option and just show up for more than one night.

Yeah, it is a bit disappointing, even if Chainsaw Man didn't do it for me. Am I mistaken or Jurassic World also not going to be open, or has that changed?

A lot of people seem to be in Universal Hollywood ticketing (there's a small wait to get in), are they waiting to pounce on the 2 maze behind the scenes?

Honestly I feel like Chainsaw Man demanded pretty solid wait times as far as Dreamworks Theater goes so this is such a weird swerve away from something that takes a not-insignificant number of guests out of the other lines.
Only explanations I can think of are if its somehow consistently been at the absolute bottom of guest survey rankings or the operations budget is stretched so thin this year they just straight up couldnt afford to even run a recycled movie again.

This is crazy tbh. At least we have a ROCK SOLID lineup with the mazes and TT. Wish I had a place to sit down for a bit other than The Purge, but oh well.

There is a DollsKill ad I get on IG every day, "buy the official dress from Obsession" and it is the exact look in the movie that HHN has decided on would be the iteration of Nikki represented. I've been getting the ad for about 2 weeks. On the front page, it is called "The Obsession Dress." But it's official name it is called the Defiant Love Mini Dress. My guess is a lot of people have already decided this is their Halloween costume and her at the end of the movie is the most gross, bloody, and iconic look of her. Sure they could do the "no no no" scene or the red dress at the party, but I think this mixes all the elements in a scary, yet "cute" way that a lot of people are looking for out of a Halloween outfit. It's safe to say this is an iconic look. It may seem weird, because it's so simple, but it's not just the dress itself, but it's also the throw up, the blood, the scarring, the scalp she's wearing, the drawn on tattoos, and the manic behavior that complete it. I am very surprised, especially given the rumblings about Treehouse of Horror, which felt like a great fit for DWT. Happily, the rest of the event does look amazing.

This might've had the biggest reaction all night.

I thought the same thing. There's been was a bit of a debate online about how appropriate a potential Fortnite collab is (playing as Bear, an abuser) and I imagine it's going to also become a debate about how appropriate a walk-around Nikki is.

I'm not sure how to feel personally (I'd wanna hear both sides); prepare for some huge paragraphs on Twitter!

And the Carrie in the zone very publicly quit (long post on Facebook) because of the abuse and harassment she was repeatedly receiving from guests.

Now, she was purely a scarezone performer—so she didn’t have a court of escorts protecting her, but it does justify caution.
