I think an hour is about right if it's quiet. I don't think it's ever taken me longer than an hour and a half.

It's 76 miles. With light traffic, I've gone between the 2 in just shy of 75 minutes.

I know there's no info to go on so it'll just be speculation, but does anyone think this will have virtual and/or express queue?

Depends on the capacity - they kept Express off the other new Potter rides for a long time to try and make it bearable.

Yes. No screens would be the new response to complaints for the existing two parks.

Last year a survey was sent out that had users design their own perfect new theme park. A huge amount of attention was placed on classic style dark rides and boat rides, and it even described what they were by saying NOT simulators and NO screens. Moving character figures and story inside a building.

I imagine a new park will be their chance to compete with Magic Kingdom, and they may dive in head first. Still with an edginess to it of course. It is Universal after all, but a lot more classic style rides than we've seen from them before might be on the table.

But that, is a conversation for the 4th park blue sky thread, so I digress.

If this is true, then it would immediately become my favorite Universal theme park.

Bit late to this thread as not been around much recently, but hallelujah, finally something concrete to back up the long time rumours.

This thread seems to have been going for ever with no news, but kudos must go out to our resident insiders who called it way back.

Septembergate was right on the money too, albeit a year late :).

So with this announcement, 4th gate, hotels, transport and all that's happening down the road at Disney (heck, we may even get a polar coaster at this rate) the competition is really hotting up in Orlando, boom time indeed.

And not to be a negative Nancy and down play the positive thread I've just written, but, and it's just a small but, but a but non the less, we could probably have had a lot of these attractions already. If Disney had have pulled the trigger when they should have done, during or just after potter phase 1. We all called it and chatted about it whilst Disney sat on the laurels and rode the coat tails of past glories whilst charging us all more for less, much less sometimes. Disney thankfully woke up and smelt the dark stuff so maybe in the future we will pay more but get more :ears:

But, oh sorry slipped another but in , I like looking forward and with both Disney and uni upping the anti competition is well and truly back on with both sides launching massive Strikes, it's like watching a giant tennis match across the I4.

The next ten years should be awesome.

"Septembergate". I love it. :)...Maybe, in the future, Dave will pay more attention to date details.....and to show the plan is working...."Build it and they will come", take a look at the second quarter Comcast earnings report. 15.6% revenue increase to 1.3 billion dollars, reflecting higher attendance, and most important, higher guest spending.

Having rode the Mack Coaster "Arthur" many times in Europapark, I really hope this style is what they have planned. While it is a family coaster, it is very well themed,
goes inside and outside the show building with really good results and could easily be themed to ANY Potterverse theme. The queue, while somewhat boring, does a great job with
bag lockers and the ride itself is a real people mover. Inside the show building has a play area, food, snacks and gifts$$$$$$. I know Uni could do a much better job of
presenting the ride to make it fit in well with Potter.. Plus, its style is unique to the area.

What would you say was the thrill level of the coaster?

Its a very subjective question. While I would give it a 4 or 5 level, its the "fun" level and total experience that makes it a great ride
for my family. You can check it out on YouTube but it really is much more fun when you actually ride it, Plus, Uni could pump the
motion up a bit the raise the thrill factor.

As gutted as I am, Montu is only an hour away. Without the dueling aspect, there really isn't all that is special about Dueling Dragons now. Dueling coasters don't seem to fare well in Florida. Gwazi was unbearably rough, and this stopped dueling because of that phone incident. It's a shame. I love dueling coasters and the way they interact with eachother

It's hard to have DD when the best Invert in the US is an hour and a half away

After seeing a POV, I would love for something like this to be done at Universal sometime...Maybe not Potter, but something

I finally watched a full POV - it never seems to go any faster than ET does.

Edit, found a better POV - it seems to have very short little bursts of speed but no real drops.

Wasn't this the ride system for that old Monsters Inc Door Coaster that was supposed to happen a few years back?

Yes, its unique in that it varies its speed and actually stops completely at times and no real drops.. When it leaves the building it speeds up to about 20 mph.Being based on a movie that did not do very well in the states, the scenes are not "memorable" but I think it would have great potential at UNI with what they could add. Don't think UNI would copy the part when you fly over the peeps below in the building without safety nets. It has two screens if I remember correctly and many set pieces based on the movie with no great AA's

I'm not sure I like so much stopping and starting for a "coaster". Some yes, but that seems more like a dark ride. The "finale" seemed a little flat also. If this is what it winds up being, maybe a different marketing approach squarely aimed at families.

I'm way, way behind on this thread.

Could somebody explain how these ride types are different than Gringotts? It seems like Gringotts was a coaster with screen-based scenes. It sounds like most of the rumored ride systems are the same idea, but maybe with an outdoor coaster section attached.
