I’d be more concerned with phones being out if it was actually less thrilling.

People who record rides or fireworks/shows are a serious pet peeve of mine.

Let the bloggers do them with their 4K DSLRs and just watch it on YouTube. You don’t need to record your own on some janky cell phone. End rant.

I can’t agree more with this. Nothing will beat what’s already available by people with far superior equipment and have waited hours for the best spot. People using iPads as well :bang:

I thing for the popular rides there there should be cameras on every seat and just charge for the vid if the customer wants it.. If you're gonna take away camera privileges at least justify it, people want to relive there experiences with their family/friends. Offer it on More than just Hrrr.

Or the people who fb live or Snap Story an entire concert. Why did you even go if you weren't going to watch it?

Drunk at Epcot, so cant pull it up- but read a study about people who record and their memories.

TLDR of it- if you’re watching it through your phone, you aren’t actually experiencing what you’re recording. It’s the equivelant of just watching it on YouTube.

Live in the moment, and your memories will be Better

I think Universal is following Disney's SWL announcement playbook for Potter.

To my knowledge, SWL hasn't had any TV commercials, press releases, vacation packages or the like. It's all been social media. Disney has been hyping up the fan community and then some of that attention trickles down towards the general public. I don't think Universal would do a Super Bowl ad or anything that large for the Potter coaster. They'll make a couple blog posts and maybe put their next announcement video on Youtube. That will end up getting reposed on social media and regular people will begin to learn about the coaster.

This isn’t entirely true. They have had “sneak peaks” on several TV specials, including their Christmas Special where Mark Hamil even promoted the new land. Once we get closer Disney is going to go ALL out for Star Wars land. Way more than even Pandora.

Can't remember where I saw this picture, it might have been on this site...but it totally fits what you are saying. There is only one woman in this picture that "gets it."

I may be the last person on the face of the earth that doesn't have a cell or smart phone. But I'm not about to waste precious moments of my life with my face in my phone instead of experiencing the world and people around me.:cheers::)

I'm not speaking of big gawdy ones but some real high quality small hidden cameras. It is possible.

You have no idea how many people I've scolded for taking pictures on dark rides and during shows. Seriously the biggest pet peeve of mine. Especially when their phone is all lit up in my face while I'm trying to enjoy the ride.

I did it once in a HHN house...I almost gave my AP back due to shame

Soooo what do we think the top speed of this attraction will be? Airtime?

I say 35 mph max with very little airtime, maybe less than the initial mummy drop. I think it will try to be a tamer mummy, exactly what people thought Gringotts was originally going to be.

I think it's going to be much more of a coaster than most people think. Highly themed, but not many "scenes"
