That would be pretty ballsy.

I'm assuming we can say that the SFX coaster is 100% going here. I'm also thinking that we could be hearing some new details from Universal soon?

Well Nintendo announced but we have few details out of Universal so we may not get much on this for a while.

Universal's next round of announcements are HHNs.

Pretty sure Universal's PR department "encouraged" Dynamic Attractions to make that tweet.

I sincerely hope this is an SFX coaster. They could easily make an attraction that everyone hoped Gringotts would be. A fully immersive dark ride roller coaster hybrid with minimal screens. However, I do wonder with all the SFX coaster options I am concerned that budget could get in the way (for anyone) to completely utilize the SFX system to its full potential.

However, aside from the drive tires vs LIMS, what are the differences between Gringotts and an SFX coaster? There appear to be A LOT of similarities....

Gringotts didn't fully utilize 'coaster' sections but the ride system does appear to be capable of extended coaster sections.

If we do get a SFX coaster with all AAs and limited screens with a 3-5 minute ride time. I'll be in love.

I would watch of Ferrari World's "Mission Ferrari" and that will give you a sense of what they will work with on a budget and technical level.

I have been wandering about Mission Ferrari. Hasn't it been under construction for like 3yrs now? Pretty sure track has been installed for over 2yrs now. I think it has been delayed multiple times, but not sure whats causing the delays. When is it set to open? The track looks 'odd' but am very curious what the end product will be.

The attraction, is slated to now open by at the earliest 2018. They may aim for a opening date around the time of Turbo Track, but who knows.

That said, while yes it does; it has too. It isn't a typical coaster in any means, and that it should blow Gringotts out of the water on an thrill factor even as it's themed as something like Ferrari.

So on one hand yes I am thrilled for the SFX coaster appearing in Orlando. On the other hand it always looked like the ride Gringott's should and could have been... and yet it's being used by Universal... for Harry Potter no less?

Universal has a tendency to do the same thing over and over, it's just weird that they are basically building another (albeit hopefully better) Gringott's with the same IP.

This doesn't really improve their menu diversity, a thing they are baffling bad at by duplicating similar concepts over and over. It's not Transformers-Spiderman or Kong-F&F level for ride system similarity, but those examples use drastically different IP.

Still, I'm thrilled for an amazing ride system utilized on my favourite franchise at Universal. But didn't anyone look at the demo video and say, hey, we kind of already did that with this franchise? Wouldn't it have drawn less comparisons with something like Marvel, Nintendo or even an off the wall Seuss concept?

Maybe they are just softly apologizing and giving me a do-over for Gringotts...

Really hoping this isn't SFX. For diversity sake.

That said, JKR/UC/WB haven't let us down yet...

I agree in that the ride systems seem too close. Whether one is more of an actual coaster or not i'm not sure matters too much as I think this will just cause inevitable comparisons. The fact that it's the same IP makes it even more egregious imo, but like you guys said, i'm not going to judge this thing at all until I ride it and Universal has been pretty solid when working with JKR/WB.

So despite my reservations i'm still looking forward to it. Mostly bc Dragon Challenge has never fit in with the rest of Hogsmeade.

Creating a similar attraction to another because the first one 'worked' is not good enough reason to go ahead IMO. Only time will tell

We're complaining about menu diversity in a community that pines for "Old Epcot" that was all slow boat rides and omnimovers?

Me? Gimme all the indoor, themed coasters you can. The more the merrier.

Seriously. It's an indoor/outdoor themed coaster. It will kind of like Gringotts, but hopefully better. Gringotts is like the mummy which is like another indoor coaster which is like another indoor coaster. Only so many ride types out there.
