It's early so it could easily drop but I'm surprised to see audience scores this high for Odyssey.

I don't think we should be surprised that Christopher Nolan made a movie audiences enjoy, his last movie climaxed with an hour of Senate confirmation hearings and it got an A cinemascore and made a billion dollars.

I suspected that the casting choices might really anger audiences. Gives me the warm fuzzies to think that maybe the anti-woke crowd isn't real life after all.

Not a fan of the animation, looks cheap but the premise sounds cool

Also poor Korra even in death she just gets crap on

it never really is. most hate, most backlash, most anger is always online and always on the same websites.
most people outside don't even know what's going on. ask a regular person on the bus of any pop culture or " anti woke" drama and most have no idea what's going on.

Some movies I watched over the past weeks:

  • Selena 1997 is a great autobiographical movie, I’m glad I never listened to her songs before this so I got to be able to see Selena the person first, rather than Selena the singer.
  • Better Off Dead is a serviceable 80s comedy flick, although that BLEEPING guy almost ruins the entire flick. Surprised to see Freddy Krueger’s first victim, Amanda Wyss, in this movie.
  • The original Masters of the Universe is an actually pretty decent fantasy flick, but none of the cast can match up to Frank Langella as Skeletor. I loved when the cop (played by one of the BTTF cast) joined up with shooting the evil army and got a surprisingly sweet ending for himself.
  • I was surprised at how intense some of the sequences of the original The Fast and the Furious from 2001 could be, and not resorting to ridiculous theatrics. 2 Fast 2 Furious is a fun ride, skipped Tokyo Drift, but Fast & Furious 2009 was a pretty disappointing venture, largely due to relying on fridging, which given said characters appearance on the Supercharged attraction, I have a sneaking suspicion she’ll return somehow.

You should check out Tokyo Drift if you're enjoying the series, it's arguably the best of the original four.

A lot of people on YT comments do say that it was the last the series truly felt at or close it the street racing roots, and the final chase through the desert went full Mad Max.

Agreed, although all four exist primarily as elaborate backstory for the beauty of Fast 5 - 9 and Hobbs & Shaw. (Fast X is when it finally collapses under its own weight).

No snark--you hate John Cusack that much? Don't remember anyone else from this. (It was an "HBO hit" in the 80s, like Beastmaster, we watched it over and over until we all agreed it was kinda good.)

No I’m referring to Mr. FootRubber from Nickelodeon. He’s featured quite often in the movie.

Yep and indeed, the character from Supercharged is indeed alive and well in Fast & Furious 6. Almost as if the writers shared my opinion that killing her off in 4 is pretty dumb. Very disappointed that it is not Luke Evans’s Shaw that will return in later films but some other dude who happens to also be named Shaw.

Also apparently Tokyo Drift is set after this movie, what? I wonder what happened between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel that caused them to hate each other.

Vin's ego apparently is what I heard on some YT vids.

Dwayne Johnson’s involvement with Black Adam shows he has a colossal ego of his own.
