This is so, so disappointing. I've been waiting for this show since they announced it a million D23s ago, and now I'm just sad.

While we're on the subject of inclusivity and representation...I saw Queer last night. Definitely the best A24 film this year (so far). Luca Guadagnino takes a famous work of beat literature and makes it into his own, unique, stunning vision while still staying true (enough) to the core of the novel. It tells an unconventional love story about desire, longing, lust, and the human need for connection. The creative team behind Challengers made Queer, and you can tell (musicians Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor, cinematographer Sayombhu Mukdeeprom, editor Marco Costa, writer Justin Kuritzkes, and director Luca Guadagnino) . This film is undeniably of a high quality, even if it does lose the plot at times or meander a good deal (both issues the novel suffers from as well).

Daniel Craig is at what might be his absolute best. He is on a level I’ve never seen him at before. He physically looks like William S. Burroughs (whom Lee, our lead, is a stand-in for) and he performs Burrough’s dialogue to absolute perfection. Craig imbues his performance with a deep, hidden, persistent pain that is palpable. There is a good deal of male nudity and male sex throughout (all handled tastefully and with style), so if that kind of thing makes you uncomfortable, it might be best to sit this one out.

Queer is not a perfect movie. Much like it’s source material, it is flawed. Also like it’s source material, there is much beauty here despite the flaws. Queer easily emerges as it's own weird, proudly queer thing.

David Lowery (yes, the director) has the most magnificent hairpiece in that movie, and Craig shouts the best line of 2024 to him. What's not to love.

So many good lines in that movie.

I honestly found the movie to be quite chaste given its subject matter. There's only really two brief shots of doing the nasty.

Just a shoutout here for Somebody Somewhere on Max. It’s such a freaking gem. It’s almost too pure and real to the point I can’t handle that but, trust me, that is a CREDIT to how touching the show can often be. Could not possibly recommend more and even if it’s tough a few times you will absolutely leave the show with your heart warmed and a smile.

Mayans MC series
people seem to hate it but I loved it. I loved seeing so many Hispanic actors too. the cartel stuff got kinda boring. but the bike club stuff was great. loved the leads. love the main brothers.

AP BIO
feels like a spinoff of always sunny in Philadelphia. I LOVE Glenn howerton. I love how terrible he is to the students. the students are hilarious. (but I really dislike Patton Oswald in it and the other teachers lol. ) I just hate anything outside of the students or glenn.

peacemaker
good premise. amazing John Cena,he's amazing, the cast is ok but the dialogue is kind of awful. the story is interesting but the awkward- drawn out improv humor is annoying.
I love peacemaker's friend vigilante. very funny

cobra Kai season 6, repetitive. boring.

vigilante For sure is a stand out of that show

Also sucks to hear, I love cobra Kai but been holding off the new season to watch them all at once

But yeah last season was fir sure my least favorite they had something amazing the first 3 seasons and even season 4 had some great moments but last season they started to jump the shark with how high the stakes are

well without specifics or spoilers, seasons 6 Cobra Kai, there are some "epic moments and some epic revelations"
but the show is just recycling itself now. it's literally recycling itself. if you didn't like season 5 then it's worse.

I don't even mind the high stakes but I felt so many moments of dejavu with season 6.

I started to feel like " wait ... did I watch this already?" or feeling like " wait, didn't this already happen" but it was the new episodes mirroring old ones

The cartel stuff (especially the wife even tho I love the actress) really needed to be cut after the big season 1 reveal -- and yet we never got a real acknowledgment of the other big reveal in the rest of the show -- but everything with the M.C. and the brothers was great. Last couple seasons should have focused solely on the war with the Sons. Still, a satisfying, if somewhat rushed, finale.

And yet somehow, we're still not done ... ?

Does continue The Karate Kid III tradition of 30-somethings play 18-year-olds. "Robbie" and Peyton List could play Yuppies in a romcom and it wouldn't seem weird.

cobra Kai has 6 more episodes in 2025 and it's truly over. there's been like no growth for anyone.
all these "kids" are going on a rotation of dramas and getting along repeatedly lol.

the cartel stuff I skipped a lot of in on Mayans, I speed up a lot of it

but in some ways I enjoyed aspects of Mayans more than sons of anarchy.
in sons of anarchy I couldn't really stand the family drama and I didn't really like Katey sagal
