Also just because the movie wasn't scary doesnt mean the house won't be. Last year we had Insidious and I don't think those movies are scary at all. However the house was one of the scariest houses we've gotten at the event and it's based on a PG-13 IP with no blood or gore! FNAF could absolutely be scary (I dont think it will be as scary as Insidious but there's potential if they do it right)

I think the key here is that everyone's definition of scary is different. No guiding definition can apply to everyone, but we can define what horror is. With the rumored line-up, it seems they are offering something for everyone. Like Clive said, you don't have to like FNAF, but it clearly belongs in the event.

I have not actually. Not really my cup of tea. Just like the FNAF movie wasn’t. But I still call it horror bc well it is.

You’re right. I certainly need to be more specific,

Horror; yes- WEAK horror.

And my main point is - that it’s disappointing to see it may be a big (main) feature this year for HHN.

You’re certainly right. FNAF is categorized as “horror”- ugh

My guy, you're fighting over FNAF like the event hasn't featured David S Pumpkins, a Violent Night photo-op and two whole Ghostbusters houses - both of which were headliners.

Nothing more than a house, yes. And maybe that is the case. Hopefully.

Clive said:
We are not going to do this all season.

Five Nights at Freddy's is horror. Period. You don't have to like it, but this is empirically true. There are going to be nine other haunted houses that do not feature this IP. If this one isn't your bag, focus on those.

And if this was the late 90s/early 2000s, we'd have a new episode of Buffy to watch tonight!

This event has had a Penn & Teller house. Almost every year there are different kinds of horror present, if it’s not up to your standards you could always stay home.

Seeing your response to this thread I think you should take a good, long look in the mirror. Nobody’s this bent out of shape in this thread besides you.

Just stating a counter opinion. As I already stated Allison, “unlike most opinions in this thread.”
You seem to be the most “threatening”… bent out of shape

I don't know your deal or what you're trying to do, but you keep prodding and provoking under the guise of "Hey, just my opinion". We're not stupid. Knock it off.

Consider this a warning.

While you all know I'm not jumping for joy on this IP, I'm not going to trash it either. I will check it out because Uni put a lot of time and effort into getting this IP and creating something from it. I can't judge until I see it. It's definitely not my "cup of tea" as the argument goes today, but I am trying to keep an open mind.

However, I do not believe there is a world where this house would be as scary as Insidious. No. Damn. Way. Carry on with your discussion. I'm glad so many of you got something you really wanted.

Just wanted to say I completely understand where you're coming from. We all have opinions, and my opinion leans way more towards yours than the rest here. I have a difficult time not eye-rolling every time I see posts about this. That being said, I can offer a piece of advice - maybe take it down a notch when expressing your opinion and remember that there are many kinds of horror (weak or not), and there are many different kinds of fans. It so happens this IP has a clear fan base, and I don't see a reason to come to a thread centered on this IP just to crap on it. Let them have their fun. If the house ends up seeming silly to you (or to me, for that matter), just skip it. Let the rest enjoy it. Also, no offense - you can obviously say what you want.. I'm not your mother, and you can tell me to piss off. I simply noticed you're new here, so thought I'd toss in a suggestion.
