I think I'm more disappointed they're using the prime real estate for f&f more than anything, because I know what they're capable of. Its like, why? Especially when they say China is getting a steller version. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Selfishly, I'd like more variety. I can't handle a lot of 3d simulation, so its getting to the point of weighing out cost vs experience for my vacation and the parks, when there are fewer attractions I can ride for the rising ticket costs. But like I said, Kong sounds awesome, and that has my attention.

Have there been any permits pulled for this yet? Is it possible the project numbers for this and twister got confused?

Not this time. 727 is Twister and Fallon. 620 is Disaster and F&F. :)

D'oh! I was at work and pictures don't load here.

Edit: Just seen the "Ride Vehicle" posted by Ultranel

...Besides it just being a go kart, why wouldn't you say it's for the Mario Kart ride instead?

If the current version already looks "corny" and "cheap", it will look even more so in ten years. This is a franchise that won't age well I'm afraid.

I'm assuming it was sent to him and he was told it was for F&F. I'm not going to blame him.

But yea, the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was Mario Kart. Looks exactly like a ride vehicle should look for something like that.

I'm willing to bet Uni makes its money back from this addition within 2-3 years, so by year 10 they'll have a tidy profit from the attraction and it can be replaced.

Yes, but if the attraction is no good, then I could care less about them making money. I'll obviously wait and see what the attraction is like before truly judging it, but this is seeming a lot less ambitious/promising than previous new offerings just based on what we know so far, which to be fair is pretty little.

But as i've said before, unless you are a Comcast shareholder, I don't see a reason to care about profit if the attraction ends up disappointing. Sure, we want Uni to continue expanding their appeal and making more money so we can continue to get new attractions. But if the ride ends up being fairly mediocre/lackluster to what they've shown they're capable of, then i'm not going to defend it.

They've made a lot of money off of Shrek too, doesn't mean the attraction is any good outside the pre-show though.

I don't care. I'm explaining their viewpoint. It might be a lackluster attraction. But considering the flood of great things we've gotten and are continuing to get over the next few years, I can't really be all that upset with one potential misfire.

seems like they would want to spread these out a little more than that

How many would rather have a mega coaster themed to F&F that reaches 85 mph at one straight run point with screeching tire effects and smoke and other stuff like that?

I am just curious as to what you would rather have?

The coaster :)

Universal has enough on their plate for after 2017 as it is, plus Fallon and F&F aren't Potter. It's not a super-headliner type attractions, but they'll get the job done.

Yea. Fallon/F&F are D tickets and VB is the "E-ticket" of the year, all meant to keep some attention on them while Avatar opens and people wait for Nintendo.

Oh I am very sure I am not looking at a Delorean, and definitely is not "old" since it arrived within the last 3 months.

It must be doing some what well in Hollywood for it to be considered for cloning. I don't doubt that at all. Maybe the attraction will have legs, I'll judge for myself when I ride it...one day.

Again, I think this is an attraction that the GP will swoon over. It's sadly not for the theme park geeks. That's disappointing. But I also know we've gotten FJ, Transformers, Simpsons, Diagon Alley, and Kong all in quick succession with more crazy awesome geeky things on the way. Do I wish this was something completely different? Sure. But I guess I can't get all that upset considering what came before and what's coming after.

yeah, to be honest, they could probably "slow down" for a minute if they really wanted to...but it's full steam ahead over there. Disaster needed to be replaced, so it was going to happen eventually.

Someone compared it to UOR's Frozen Ever After, and it seems like that comparison is becoming more relevant. A classic, semi-beloved attraction is taken over by a huge IP in an underwhelming way.

Honestly, I'm way less thrilled with Frozen in Epcot then F&F in USF.

At least F&F fits with the theme of the park. Also, aren't they actually demolishing the building and putting in a new ride track? That's way better then re-purposing a 20+ year old ride with capacity issues, involving the biggest Disney franchise in years...
