Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster (USH) - Opening 2026

At this point, I think Universal really needs to just be (somewhat, obviously) honest and open about this. Enough with the “This summer!” stuff, and just flat out officially move the goalposts. People would be more understanding if Universal said, “The ride won’t be meeting our previously expected summer window. To ensure the ride is perfect, we’ll be announcing an official date when we feel confident the ride can meet it” rather than continue to just leaving people guessing, holding off trips in hope, people wasting hours every day standing and waiting for it to soft, etc.

Not to quote myself, but this really goes to show that this thread is just going in circles still ten days after I commented this.

"Hello, we intend to meet our Summer 2026 deadline but due to [reason] our original opening has needed to shift. We are working on all issues, and we will update you soon/by [date]."

Gives us a vague enough reason but enough of a reason to know why, and to know when to look forward to news besides "soon"

Since the USH spokesperson said that the ride will open sometime this summer and apparently the ride tested again early this morning, we’re in between “It’s so over” and “We’re so back” right now.

No, its a safety thing. If its true that the ride is ejecting things from the trains (racing spoiler) then the last thing they want is to risk something flying off and hitting a guest or having a guest capture it on video and posting it on the internet.

That wouldn't be the first time. Universal played tricks with sound to circumvent sound situations before they opened Universal Studios Orlando.

I don't think the sound issue as much as the ride itself, as it is the screams from people on the ride. If the ride is running at 5am, no one's on it.

So I doubt early morning testing (should be happening) would have little to nothing to do with any perceived sound issues.
