I just hope they don't use the same low quality image of trees that they used on the lower sound wall.

They will; it’s for the city so that they won’t complain

A good reminder that Universal has to work within city and county approvals, so it’s not always strictly a "Universal decision."

I mean, rules are meant to be broken, right?

Not when it involves a multi-million dollar coaster that could be a major liability issue if the necessary cautionary methods aren't taken beforehand.

Then again, this is Universal we're talking about. I'll never forget how supposedly the Last of Us maze back in 2023 was on the verge of collapsing in on itself on opening night but they still sent people through cause... money.

Wait holdup…I kinda skimmed past this post because I figured you were talking about the crowds but…did you actually mean the house was literally structurally unstable!?

Considering somebody died the first year of HHN causing it to never happen again for a while... yikes

Yes. That's the reason why the house had a ridiculous line on opening night. It wasn't exactly structurally sound so they let a more limited amount of guests through at a time rather than a Conga line. I was there, waited about an hour, almost neither line (standby or express) moved for that time but people were still coming out of the maze and I just bailed out and tried again another night. Still one of the greatest themed mazes we've had in Hollywood. I miss it. But anyways, back to Hollywood Drift!

Game of telephone going on here. The house was not structurally unsound -- if it was, they never would've let guests through, period. They would never risk that.

There were unanticipated issues that affected Last of Us on its first night, yes. They were resolved later in the evening, which is when normal guest flow was restored.

Andddd back to Hollywood Drift.
