This is 100000% a rumor but hearing Universal is consider using the plaza as extra Q if the ride gets HUGEEEEEEEEE lines

I think it will mostly be fine but just something I heard

They'll probably end up using it when normal standby is available but when the ride first opens, it'll be virtual queue only so they shouldn't have a problem with keeping everyone inside the main queue. It doesn't look like a lot but they crammed a lot of switchbacks into the outside portion (the indoor queue is only going to have 3 switchbacks though)

I remember opening day for the new Star Tours (random sequence scene) at DHS. They were expecting a 'huge' crowd. Disney
had a sprawling twisting queue that filled up the entirety of the Streets of America. They threw a party and no one showed. The
existing queue didn't even fill and the wait was less than 30 minutes except for the first hour.......Of course, I'd expect a big opening
crowd for Drift, since the coaster fans will surely be there....unless it rains.

So you will only be able to go on it once a day?

Also I assume they are planning to not have it part of the 3 PM express for APs for 6 months to a year like MK

I also wonder on EA, I assumed they'd be pushing EA to get on the new coaster then head down to SNW

Yeah I do t think it’s gonna be this nuts, but I could see them reserve the entire plaza for overflow for opening day. I think this ride is gonna generate a lot of buzz for USH’s first major coaster.

Thought rings out to when the marketing kickoff can begin—and I actually have a knack to where they could begin things: with Super Bowl. With USH gearing to get into the final steps of Hollywood Drift, and with Comcast having full access of Super Bowl for airing on NBC—I can actually see them do something for the ride.

The last time they’ve done something like this was for a similar attraction that meant a lot for the sake of Hollywood—that being Transformers. And unless they want to market Kids instead, I think this might be a better clientele for the sake of national headlines.

Might be a good opportunity to announce the month window and give the nation a reminder of what will be the biggest coaster of the US for 2026 outside of Tormenta.

I agree but....I just feel like they are going to wait

I think
1) They honestly don't know when its going to be done
2) USH just seems to like to hold things close to the vest....unless its SNW where they screamed about it for years
3) I know its "different" but they literally told us about Chainsaw man coming to HHN...maybe 2 weeks before the event last year. So seems to me like they just don't care about building hype as much as finding a moment right before

Outside of Universal Kids Frisco--Hollywood Drift will be Universal Destinations + Experience's biggest attraction for the sake of the parks this year. Couple that with the sake of this also being the one of only two coasters this year in North America that is *big* (the other being Tormenta in Texas)--and with this being in California and with NBC airing the sports event, I think the circumstances are different and a month window isn't far fetched.

I’m thinking this thing officially opens in the Summer with some sifts/AP previews in the Spring. I’m sure they’re going to push as hard as they can to open this in July 4th weekend at the latest.

See I think this thing opens much earlier than that, thinking May.

I agree with you

I'm just saying USH seems not interested in building hype like before

I think advertising is one of the weakest of USH and hope I'm wrong and they start the Ad campaigns soon but have a feeling we won't see much until the spring

Wondering if something got stalled on the project--the community line for the area has been left completely blanked for major updates in regards to the coaster, and it's been like that for the past week and a half. Typically for the Community Line, they've tried to update things with the project on a public level a few days before the end of a specific month--but outside of some production updates near Hollywood Knolls (that I imagine is for Jumanji 3)--the line has been left blank.

With how little work has been done on the installation of glass panels, it is surprising to see them not do as much to get the glass shields fully finished and installed (alongside the last sound wall).

I don't doubt it

I tried to bring this up weeks ago but we saw how fast they could work when the track was being placed there were weeks where like a large amount of work got done and now we have not see much movement

Also just re reminder....people used to think think this coaster could be have previews at the end of last year because of the speed they were going

Fair enough but most people thought this was also a spring project, that is moving into Summer

I know USH never gave a date but also we've seen what they can do when they move it movie it and it seems like something is off or else the Scream shield's should be up give how fast they were about to move on other parts of this project. Its like the Avengers project at DCA fore weeks you see insane movement on the building then it slows down

Now it seems impossible but you'd think the original goal was to have this open by Spring breaks to help with those crowds
