Damn, we've already got out first signs of some vertical work. Wasn't expecting that.

When did Universal add Themed Walls to SNW before it opened?

I feel like roller coasters are faster to build too. The only trouble I saw for them was the terrain and it seems like they got that out the way already

I know that we've been over the opening date conjecture for a while now, but it makes me hope the coaster will be done in time for late 2024 at the very least.
It'll be interesting keeping track of the progress now (no pun intended).

I don't know if VelociCoaster is a good reference due to Discovery Center's outdoor area requiring a whole foundational rework + Covid, but I believe vertical construction began around February 2020. The first pieces of track might've been installed in May 2020. So over a year before opening.

I'd say February/March 2025 is a realistic opening timeframe for this attraction. Similar to SNW, with previews in January.

Since we’re already seeing vertical construction in the loading area, if we see some vertical movement on the track and supports, I could see this as a big Christmas present for us next year!

Granted, we’ve had this discussion before with Potter and SNW, and in both scenarios we saw a January soft for SNW and a Feb soft for Potter. This is nowhere near as extensive as a fully themed land, so I think there is a fighting chance of this opening by the end of next year. I would say early 2025 would probably be more likely as SFMM and SWSD are supposedly due for major new coasters as they would want to “compete” for that spotlight, but again, solid chance of it opening late next year.

Adding a tower crane is the smartest move for this site with all the access limitations

I assume the Tram 60th and Mario Cafe are the two big attractions next year

Along with hopefully the Return of Lunar New years (I mean a new Panda film is out next year and the trailer for the film got huge views....so it has to be back...right????)

Along with SNW hopefully having Holiday Decorations

So in all fairness a lot will be going on....and hopefully this summer we also get something going on in the Plaza over....just cars. Like a Dream Works (also kinda funny because Pixar is having an event at DL), Nintendo(because or Classic Universal (fits with the 60th) event there would be perfect

But Fingers are crossed that somehow AP's can preview the ride before 2025

Same as Nintendo: People at the top wanted November. People actually doing the work had to break it to them that it wasn't gonna happen.

I still feel like very late 2024-very early 2025 soft opening is possible. I don't think they see the close cross-promotion with Fast X 2 that important.

They can always just re-advertise the coaster closer to the film's release and do an event for it or something.

I don’t think cross promotion with the movie is important. It’s just not going to be ready till 2025.

Can't wait to see how this coaster looks, I've always felt this is essentially what a F&F attraction should be (a coaster).

I know it won't open next year but is there something we don't know about?

Like the Q is going to be basic and so will the coaster in terms of theming. Like the ride won't be ready end of the next year of the full Q won't be?

My question i guess is if they added more shifts they could bang this out next year if they really wanted to right? Because unless the launch area has some impressive tech we don't know about it, a year for a coaster doesn't seem insane to do with no themeing
