Yeah I feel like people who weren't there can't fathom how crazy that era was. The Shining and Ash vs Evil Dead were practically black box theater.

HHN is a little more family friendly now, sure, but I can't really complain when you look at the sheer scale of a lot of the mazes. Chucky from 23 might be in my top ten mazes ever.

I actually liked the Shining for what it was. Sure, it wasn't as grand as it could've been but for what we got, I wouldn't call it a complete black box. At least not as much as Trick 'r Treat was the next year in that spot. Ash V Evil Dead had so much potential though.
