Tried a couple of the exclusive beers today. Sadly no winners. Reaper's Reserve at Burning Blade seems like it's trying to be Disney's Kungaloosh Ale, a "winter warmer" profile that's still light enough to drink in the heat, but it had a bum soapy note that diminished the experience. Stoick's Ale at Spit Fyre was undistinguished and had a skunky taste. The blackcurrant saison at Bar Moonshine in Potter was the best of the bunch, refreshing and balanced, but it's not so distinctive that I see myself coming back to it the way I do with Isla Nublar IPA.
As far as food goes, the Vesuvio at Pizza Moon was insanely good, and huge for the price. Definitely lived up to the hype. Huli Huli pork sandwich at Oak & Star was also very tasty, though expensive. I wish I liked the pretzel stake at Burning Blade more than I did, it just didn't meet my garlic sicko standards.
Planning to hit up Das Stakehaus when I go next month, any consensus emerging on what dishes (if any) are actually any good there?
