Sure, you are talking about parents who haven't taken their kids to a theme park when their kids were young because the offerings weren't appealing, suddenly deciding to make a trip to a theme park for the first time when their "kid" is a teenager.

This family may have already discovered skiing, sailing, fishing, backcountry motorcycle trips, zip-lining in Costa Rica, European travel or cruises by the time the kids reach their teenage years. So, the theme parks can try to attract that first-time visit but they have missed the opportunity to be part of the family's travel tradition.

Maybe, but now you're getting super duper hypothetical. If a family decides to go sailing with their elementary-aged kids rather than take them to a kid-friendly theme park, that automatically means they'll never go somewhere like Epic Universe when those kids are a bit older? IMO, no, but maybe I'm wrong. Just feels like a false choice -- like you have to absolutely nab their attention before they reach a certain age or they're toast as a demographic? I just don't think that's how it works at all. Especially not for a place like Epic. If the Kids Resorts aren't getting a lot of young families, then ya. But not Epic.

Automatically? Never? No. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is there is value in forming family memories and powerful brand connections early because they can be harder to form when kids are older and there are many other interests and distractions and opportunities and alternative brand loyalties to compete with.

Kids Resort may help, but I think it will be regional and the strategy is arguably pushing a rope.

Is it just me, or does The Bride of Frankenstein just scream macabre yet romantic dark boat ride. An OG Tunnel of Love only Universalized.

LOVE this idea. It would fit in well with the playfulness of parts of the land and also soften the scariness a bit.

They replace the not as merch-friendly Gilman with ridiculously merch-friendly Bride?

I really want a Black Lagoon expansion. The entire plot just dedicated to Black Lagoon/Gillman. It's a slam dunk for Dark Universe AND the park itself, as Epic is lacking in the water ride department.

A Bride of Frankenstein attraction is so unappealing to me. I'd be incredibly shocked if Gillman doesn't happen.

I know people love to reimagine the bride as in love with Frankenstien creature but canonical she strongly rejects him like she would rather die than be with him, she wouldn't be with him if he was the last person on earth level of rejection. That is part of the reason why the creature and her die together when he explodes the castle. (Which makes sense for a coaster...escape from the castle while its being blown up.)

Though Phantom would actually make for a romantic boat ride.

Yeah in the original film. she appears, reject Frankenstien‘s monster, and get blow up all in 3 minute.

I'm not sure there's enough source material to center an entire ride around her rather than the broader Black Lagoon IP. I'm totally down for her to make a cameo in a Black Lagoon boat ride though.

I don't think the attraction would be a retelling of The Bride of Frankenstein. Dark Universe is set within modern day, with all the Universal Classic Monsters stories being canonical legends that occurred within the past of this world. Dr. Pretorius is shown to be long dead, and The Bride watches over Victoria's Monster in somewhat of an "older sister" role.

If there's going to be a ride centered around The Bride, it's probably going to be an original story, something kind of like...

You know… a storyline where Gilman captures the Bride and the Bride has to escape…

Things that make you go, hmmm…
