Dolls: Let’s Play Dead (HHN 34)

Alrighty then, looks like the recent rumored direction ended up true, so I'm happy they're going in this angle, and I wasn't burned this time by the rumor I got a while back!

So first off, this is not Dollhouse of the Damned. The updated description @saint.piss posted gives a good idea of the direction this house is taking, and DotD didn't involve us getting shrunk down to doll-size to be tormented by a very deranged girl who's bound to be a full-fledged killer when she grows up. Jordan Hill's post talking about scale also backs this up, as you would be playing with scale to show you're much smaller than before. Now yes, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a nod or two to DotD, especially since Charles Gray is also behind this one. But ultimately, this is a different tale with dolls and toys.

With all that said, I'm very excited for this house! Twisted dolls/toys can be a really fun theme, and this one feels even more twisted with the direction they're taking. Also, this is a theme which could potentially feature one of the few things which can legitimately get under my skin and freak me out, Mannequins. Depends on how they look and the number/proximity, but when they reach that unsavory sweet spot, *shudder*.

So yeah, this house will very much be high on my anticipated list. And a house in general I'm both looking forward to and dreading!

Basically key thing of this house, it gets bloodier when you go through, sounds very nifty.

I think the key words here are "kind of", a good past example is Bugs: Eaten Alive! was kind of a comedy house.

At the same time, they're mentioning this house gets bloodier and bloodier as it goes on, and there's some pretty freaky/unsettling things in there, so the "kind of" comment might be pretty apt.

Maybe this won’t be that similar to Dollhouse of the Damned (can’t resist the urge to index to that), but I feel like that house could have been “kind of” considered comedy depending on who you ask. So hopefully still in for a house that disturbing.
