I believe what you are referring to is the construction entrance.

And no, it's not across the road. They took out a bunch of trees separating the park boundaries from World Drive to create the entrance.

EDIT: For comparison, here's how the site looked on June 24th:

Nice pics. Thanks for the update. How far down the SOA is the construction going? Seems I remember reading a few of the street facades are staying.

Supposedly the back (closest to Star Tours) will simply get new facades. Most of the rest of the street is in the process of being gutted at the moment. Equipment from the backs of the facades are currently being removed. For example, temporary speakers have been erected by the facades seen from Muppet Courtyard.

Speaking of Muppet Courtyard, it was mentioned yesterday by Martin that the area will see a much grander entrance and the balloons seen on top of the Muppetvision 3D show building (see pics above for reference) will likely be going to clean up sightlines.

Here's a pic of the demo work going on at the SOA facade near Muppets:

I wouldn't think SOA should take too long now that they are actively working on it... but then again this is Disney, so it probably will.

Yes, SOA, plus bits and pieces still all over the SWL site and adjacent to. The stadium progress is kind of slow.

The stadium is actually progressing much more than is noticeable. They are being extra careful with it's removal from what i've heard for safety reasons. Notice in the picture from Late June I posted, the stadium is fully in tact and the are where the concrete where the show was held hadn't been touched. Even the pond was still there along with a swath of trees behind the stadium.

In the new pics, where all of those trees were is a white tent which was used to house pyro prior to the new site being built. They've also built out the entire construction entrance since.

Well, the point of a parade is to ATTRACT people to see it, so I typically count fireworks shows, parades and things of the like as attractions.

As far as actual rides goes, Rocket Rods may hold the record for shortest lived. If not, it's certainly up there.

Just looked it up... JIYI lasted 2 years and 7 days. Rockets Rods lasted 1 year and 126 days. Both closed right around the same time at the beginning of the millennium in 2000/2001.

Superstar Limo operated for 11 months (2/2001-1/2002).

Great pics, but still they've still got a lot to do. I can buy that we're easily several months behind Disneyland, now.

Seems things are finally starting to speed up some, at first I thought they were going to leave SOA standing as long as possible to block the view of construction, obviously not.

I wonder if they are actually taking down all of SOA now or they just removed that section to make Muppets more noticeable and less claustrophobic for now.

Also, there's now a slight view to what's left of LMA now that the facades are gone.

Disney just pulled an Oprah and made the shocker more significant by acknowledging it when most people didn't care.
