Family friend on a recent trip, who’s never done Muppet Vision, said it was their favorite attraction outside of Tower of Terror the day they went. Mind you, they didn’t try Galaxy’s Edge and plan to in January, but they said this attraction brought them the most joy.

I pray Disney never axes it.

Now that we know that Monstropolis is replacing Muppets Courtyard, it leaves open the question of what will happen to Animation Courtyard. Some have suggested Zootopia, but that theme could be an ideal fit for Disney Animal Kingdom and the Zootopia E-ticket attraction may be too similar to ROTC and MMRR.

So I have a different proposal: Halloween Town from Nightmare Before Christmas. The rationale here is the enduring love for the TNBC overlay at Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, the need for more dark rides at DHS, the increasing popularity of "dark" genres/content in theme parks, and the clear merchandising/revenue-generation potential of this property.

This mini-land could include a Mystic Manor-like effects-filled dark ride and a stage show, plus retail and quick-service dining. It would be a centrally-located "hub" of seasonal activities and events in the park from October. through Christmas.

Simpsons is apparently in the running per trusted WDWMagic insider Moth. Incredibles has also been speculated on as well. Maybe if Incredibles 3 does well perhaps we will see movement to get the IP an attraction in WDW, either in DHS or maybe as part of a new Tomorrowland.

An Incredibles land to replace AC would also give WDW something close to an Avengers Campus since the odds of them getting the Marvel rights back now still seem very slim to none.

Avenger's Campus is not very good...it just feels like a corporate office park (and Web Slinger is pretty lame...a very non-dynamic, non-energetic attraction for one of the most dynamic, energetic characters of all time). But I think they probably will get the rights back in the next 20 years as Universal will need to update that land, and will tire of paying royalties and evangelizing a brand Disney owns. They may even own DC Comics in the next 20 years.

I'd say that Disney may hold back on an Incredibles land in anticipation of likely bringing Marvel to the park someday but they don't seem to think ahead much (they consistently back themselves into weird corners with inexplicable planning decisions). So, sure, maybe they'd put Incredibles in Animation Courtyard, but then I'd suggest they find a different place at DHS for a Halloween Town, I think it would be very popular and sell more merch than Incredibles (or Monsters Inc.) and boost holiday season/event traffic more than either of those too.

As an aside, I think an Incredibles stunt show could be a good successor to Indiana Jones if/when they feel it's time to replace that show.

When that rumor popped up that Universal was developing a replacement to MSHI coupled with the smashing success of Wicked, a thought popped in my mind that perhaps a Wicked land could replace MSHI.

Back on topic, If Disney wanted an Incredibles attraction in the parks if Incredibles 3 does well. It would probably be a safer bet to make it part of a new Tomorrowland. This would be a prime opportunity to bring the TDS Pan/Avengers Infinity Defense ride system to WDW.

I still doubt we see a MSHI replacement for another number of decades. Marvel is still a gigantic property and Universal would be dumb to trade it in.

I think TNBC is one of the most underutilized assets in Disney's lineup, at least when it comes to the parks. A proper land or dark ride would be wonderful; it allows them to sell holiday merch year-round and the visual identity of the IP is incredibly striking, immediately identifable, and timeless. An addition to DHS would be a dream come true.

I love the first movie, but I don't love the idea of an Incredibles land for DHS. Pixar already has such a firm hold on the park as is, and I would love to see more variety. I also think the visual style of the Incredibles is relatively uninteresting. I'm sure they could make a great ride with the IP, but it wouldn't be my first pick by any means.

I know Disney really wants to make fetch happen, but Simpsons is on the way out. Once the Universal contract ends, anything more than a takeover of what used to be Pixar Place is more space than the IP should take up in a modern park. Have a few meet n greet characters, allow people to buy a Krusty Burger or Donut Boy Donut, and have some merch stands, but that's about all I personally think the IP needs.

Plus, what more could Disney do with the Simpsons IP that Universal already did?

As for an AC replacement, perhaps it's something that hasn't even been rumored yet. I would love to see some sort of modern catch all Disney Animation area for that space.

An indoor coaster?

I think a Simpsons indoor coaster would go hard. Not to mention it would be an immediate step up from Universal’s ride.

DHS doesn't need more coasters or thrill rides at this point, and I'm not sure how Simpsons would cleanly translate to a coaster format. Simpsons is a sitcom with a huge roster of characters and witty dialogue, perfect for a dark ride / simulator, which is effectively what we got at Universal. I think a coaster is a huge investment into an IP that doesn't need it, solely for the point of one-upping your rival's previous offerings, which no one is actually going to be thinking about once Simpsons at USF/H close.

I think an option for the headlining E ticket for whatever replaces AC could be to port the Infinity Defense ride system over here. It fills a niche at DHS. It can be a family dark ride with thrills and is a nice break from trackless rides.

Except they can't bring it over here because of the Marvel contract.

I'm personally of the opinion you can still pull off an indoor coaster of some sort at DHS. I understand it's not exactly what this park needs, but you could. Had it not been for MMRR they could always do a Simpsons Road Rage trackless ride.

What I meant was the underlying ride system for Infinity Defense albeit with a different IP attached to it.

Okay, that makes more sense.

I guess they can have an Incredibles ride with that ride system.

They could do an indoor coaster at DHS, and we know because we have two upcoming indoor coaster projects already slated for DHS across the next few years! :nervous:

I think if there's gonna be a new Simpsons ride, it'll probably be a dark ride, and the park will be better off with that than another coaster imo.

We shall see. I was under my personal impression that Universal wants to fill out the existing expansion pads of the current lands at EU long before they touch that 20+acre spot. But anything can happen. In the near term, I just hope Universal prioritizes USF post EU opening.

Just shows where their priorities are. Still incredibly disappointing, though. That's a LARGE plot of land that could be used in so many more useful and creative ways than *gag* office space.
