Just a good reference video if you want to know about how long it will take you to get through the Q at different parts of the day

My guess is that we will see meet and greets of Bluey and Co in Animation Courtyard at DHS and somewhere in Hollywoodland at DCA.

If Bluey got an actual ride, it would probably be at Epcot since they have a lot of dead spots at that park.

For DCA I'm hoping he gets a part or become the Disney Kids show in Hollywood. Think it would draw lots more people

(also for sure a meet and greet location in DCA)

Just spent two days at the resort (one day at Disney, one at DCA), and operations/maintenance are not great.

The only scheduled closure was supposed to be Lincoln. But we ended up finding all the following rides with extended closures either more than an hour, or multiple times in the same day (the first two were closed all day long): Monorail, Incredicoaster, Monsters, Spiderman, Rise, Runaway Railway, Midway Mania, Luigi, Astro Blasters, and Matterhorn.

This wouldn't surprise me from Six Flags. But from Disney this is especially bad. Has it been like this for a while?

I already gave up my AP because the park was unpleasant. I was only going a few times a year with a one day ticket (or SoCal ticket when offered), but if this keeps up, I feel like I don't even want to do that anymore. Why thier fanbase puts up with this is beyond me.

I will admit that the new Googie style section of Downtown Disney is pretty great looking, though. And the open space in the middle with stage really breathes some life into that area, and let kids run out some of their energy.

Still got one more day to go on the SoCal holiday ticket... let's hope the final visit goes better.

Keep us posted! I didn't see Tiana's on your list but it's been showing as Temporarily Closed on the app quite a bit these past few days too.

That was (surprisingly) open. If it went down later, we didn't notice... but admittedly, after we rode it once, we weren't really looking for a second ride, so we weren't checking.

And although it was my first time on it, and I have no basis of comparison (I also tried to stay spoiler-free before riding), it appeared all the electronics were working except for the one at the end. I also didn't think the ride was bad, except for the middle portion between the indoor drop and the final drop... I found that very sparce. Did I fall in love with the ride? No. But did I hate it? No, overall it was good. But nothing to get worked up about. I'd ride it no more or less than I did the original Splash.

I did like the new Single Ride hallway, though! Much better than before.

This is shocking:

The short version: Disneyland management didn't want Imagineering to handle this because Imagineering projects are "too expensive." So they bought a commercially-available kit and assembled it with some tweaks.

I've never heard of a park going around Imagineering for a park project, even a relatively small-scale one like this.

With how fast the prices are going up, this is completely unacceptable.

Sadly, the new Disneyland Haunted Mansion gift shop is an astonishing failure of planning, architecture, construction, and theme park environmental design. It is not open yet and it is understood that more "work" will be done but that is likely the placement of props around the building ("set dressing" has already begun). The structure itself is in a completed state. I wanted to detail a few -- but not all -- of the known issues.

This set of images shows several, as follows:

1. WOOD SIDING REPEAT VISIBLE: The artificial wood siding has a wood grain pattern to it and no effort was made to hide the "repeat." As anyone who has installed floor tiles with a pattern (e.g., floor tiles simulating natural textures usually have a dozen or so different patterns within the boxes) knows to stagger and vary the placement to hide the repeated pattern. This image shows two boards directly above and below each other with the repeat pointed out with lines. This is a stunning level of ineptitude in installation and project management. A typical homeowner doing a DIY project would notice and avoid this.

2. EXIT AREA: As you can see in the image, the ugly back-of-house utilities of the gift shop are located right at the attraction exit. Clearly a gate/wall will be installed (the white vertical board on the back wall of the gift shop shows where this gate/wall will be located). But it will need to be a massive 8-foot tall gate to come close to hiding most of these unattractive elements and having a service gate like that be the first thing encountered at the attraction exit is bad enough. But as shown, it will not hide all the functional parts located back there including a cheap service light and a metal (rather than historic, and easily ordered wood) vent, among others.

3. FRONT GAP AT GROUND: The image of the front of the building shows the way the building meets the ground, with a gap and flashing. This is how modern -- not very expensive -- homes are built. And this contributes to the "cheap shed dropped into place" look. The structure is not "grounded" to the earth with a stone foundation. Such a foundation would have been more historic/thematic, and incorporating a second wall material would have added architectural interest, reduced the structure's visible scale, and allowed a material tie-in to the natural materials found at Fowler's Harbor across the walkway and Bayou Country.

4. FRONT PLASTIC BOXES AND RECESSED LIGHTS: The front view also shows some -- but not all -- of the various plastic boxes, junction boxes, and recessed lights highly visible at the front of the structure. All of these detract from the perceived quality and historic theming. This is just a lack of planning and attention to detail and lowering of standards.

5. BARN DOOR FRAME GAP: This image shows a minor detail where the frame around the barn door doesn't connect to the wall behind it -- there's a gap. Though a small detail, this showcases the sloppy construction. NO quality architect or builder would allow a gap behind a trim element like this as water would penetrate behind it. It's just an example of how poorly this building is detailed and built.

An update on the Haunted Mansion gift shop debacle. David at FreshBaked posted a video on YouTube from which these images were taken, showing...

1. The shoddy workmanship where the siding meets the trim around the circular window.

2. The cheap zinc-coated eye-bolts and carabiners used to hang the props. No period-appropriate hardware of course, or even spray paint!

3. The awkward iron "thing" they put around the already awkward porch lights. Disney, let's be real, what the hell is this?

4. The see-through iron gate at the attraction exit...wonder how this helps hide the back-of-house plumbing/utilities shown previously?

Yeah

I haven’t gone on alive for months because whenever I go in the morning it closes

Just happened Friday, and HM was also closed at rope drop along with ROTR, Tia’s and big thunder

Also Mickey went down around 9 am and so did small world

So yeah it’s ridiculous but nothing will change the parks are packed

Also insane the parks are packed without MK’s we’ve had no sold out days so confused how in one day they are filling the park with none MKs yet the park hasn’t been sold out before this point, just makes me wonder how many people with single tickets are allowed in when MK’s can come in the park

Hopefully Disney's new management after Iger can put their foot down to ensure the rides at their parks are better maintained w/fewer downtime.

I’ve heard they literally have lost knowledge as well on how to maintain rides

It sounds nuts but if the people maintaining these rides left and didn’t write all their tips and tricks down then partly they might need to re hire people to pass on how to maintain rides better along with investing more money

There's always ChatGBT lol

I joke, but if they're specific enough on what they need to fix, they could probably use it.

No they couldn't. And if they could, someone's getting sued. Many of the Disney's rides, animatronics, and effects use proprietary elements that wouldn't be able to be used as training data unless someone illicitly sold it. (Something like this did in fact happen years ago when Disney discovered its own tech in a competing animatronic supplier's figure.)
