Very interesting. Disney has had fairly stable reports, with some increases in profit… basically through last year into this one.
Universal had declines through last year, and only saw increases once Epic finally opened.
hmmm.
Seems like Disney is getting their act together.
* Fixed the very broken, and mostly fraudulent, disability pass system. Stand by lines, and lightening lane, are considerably less
time than they were prior to the changes in May 2024.
* Using lots of ticket and hotel discounts, plus dining plan specials in conjunction with other discounts.
* Easing up on the pre planning, before and during visits, with indications to fix it even more so.
*The parks are still fresh from all of the new attractions and lands, most high caliber, built in the past 9-10 years.
*Bringing back more live entertainment which had been neglected and cut back the past decade
*Brought back free parking.
*Seamless entrance security as opposed to the Universal security hassle. WDW is fast, easy and not obtrusive
.....I've had three significant Disney vacations in the past two years. All three were very enjoyable, and the last two were the best, mostly
since stand by lines are pretty reasonable now. And park operations are very smooth. Conversely, my last few vacations to Universal were
not as good as the past vacations. Operations were shoddy, security was slow and intrusive, and only a couple decent new
attractions since budget was diverted to a new park. A lot of misses with new attractions also. With Epic being built I'm hopeful Universal
Orlando will return to its former glory. I've scheduled a 17 night vacation in November and a 11 night (with the grandkids, thus summer)
in June 2026. All Universal. I hope they don't let me down this time....plus I hope they fix their Epic ticketing policy, which is horrendously
an anti guest policy.
