I get that but it seems like poor planning or a rushed decision when they knew they needed SOMETHING new this summer, and they’ve known they needed a new nighttime parade for YEARS now.

It’s not always that easy.

It takes years for projects like this to come to fruition.

Only recently has TDO given attention to ramping up entertainment at their parks. Disney wants to compete and so they opened the purse strings.

And you'll actually be able to see it on non-party nights unlike CineSational on non-HHN nights.

How sure are we on that? I'm going in Sept for MNSSHP...

MK will be busy next week with this parade debuting. MK's soft summer is probably over for the next 4 weeks.

Here is the full parade. It’s good but it’s not Paint the Night. It just doesn’t have that strong musical song to carry it. With that said I’m glad Magic Kingdom has a nighttime parade again.

How is it that Light Magic had a better soundtrack than this parade!?

Anyone else remember when the Disneyland 45th parade started with Pomp and Circumstance, but was quickly changed?

Yeah, for me the soundtrack is a big issue here. It's barely there and when it's noticeable it's shockingly bland, so it does create some dead space between floats. Compare this to something like Paint the Night where "When Can I See You Again?" effortlessly carries the parade from beginning to end.

Was having dinner and rushed over since it was going to be less crowded than Sunday...

  • The energy before and after the parade felt like MK had returned to normal? Hard to describe, but MK felt empty without a night parade.
  • The parade's floats are amazing and visually fantastic
  • The music is a bit of a letdown. It's not as great as MSEP or PTN's soundtrack since it doesn't really create a party-like atmosphere. It's chill and relaxing as the music ramps up with each float.
It's a great parade, and finally returns some sense of normalcy back to MK (even though they're about to rip out RoA)

Safe to safe, Paint the Night was the blueprint for a modern night parade. From custom lighting fixtures fully integrated and designed into each float, to incredible dancers, costumes, and lighting throughout.

They could have gone for the more whimsical version for Magic Kingdom, but still kept the floats on track to feel like something out of the 21st century. These feel dated to me, and messy. The parade feels empty.

Where are the small floats between major units? Dancers? Characters?

It just feels… lacking.

It was, reportedly the speed was super fast and it was a test run.

Anyway, I liked it! Excited to see the full thing.
