I always thought the Pterosaur was just bolted to the ceiling, I even remember that in the CtE days.

Good to hear CTX is getting some love. Just give us the old name and reinstate the effects and I'll be happy. Really miss the visual punch of the sparks, fog, and lasers of the time travel tunnel.

So, y'all remember the addition of the mermaids at Pirates, right? Well, Imagineering decided that they wanted to give Dinosaur some love too. Expect your time travel experience to be a little more...time travel-y.

Expect a better time travel effect. I haven't had the privilege to see it yet, but I hear it's cool. Similar to the fog screen effect on PoTC but more time travel-y. Oh and I've been told more smoke/fog throughout the ride.

My first reaction, exactly.

Hopefully this one will be different. Hopefully...

And the compys....wait. Don't get me wrong, I would've much rather seen them fix up everything else before even thinking of adding something new, but beggars can't be choosers.

Bringing this back since Dinosaur will be *ahem* going extinct very, very soon. I had a crazy random question, does anyone know of the full list of effects that CTX had that didn't make it into Dinosaur, or were the ride experiences pretty much the same (with the exception of the meteor at the end being replaced with the Carnotaurus head).

IIRC the effects and scenery were largely the same, again minus the Carno head at the end. The biggest difference was I remember the first version having a more aggressive ride profile and the building was darker (somehow) at points. I know there was a small dino jumping and sweeping dino effect that never worked well from CTX era that they changed out for Dinsoaur.

It was the boulder effect from Indiana Jones, but yes. It was a practical meteor.

I don’t know how I didn’t connect this in my mind. Of course it would be that effect.
