Well my whole thing was looking at this from a greed perspective as the tariffs on china were just lowered or at least they’re looking at making a deal for lowering them. I’m hoping not to make this into a political debate of pro or against Trump himself.

Purely from a math perspective, a $100 increase is more inline with the 30% tariff (based on a $400 or $500 MSRP) than when the tariffs were first announced ($120 increase / $150 increase respectively).

The price increase on the games is similarly inline (30% of $60 is $18 dollars, so $80).

While I'm sure greed played a part, if the profit margin from production cost to MSRP is already slim (which, it often is... reports are that the Xbox X costs around $470 to produce), then companies have a lot less wiggle to eat the cost of any tariffs.

Bungie Stealing ‘Marathon’ Art Is Probably The Last Straw

Consoles are almost always sold at a loss initially but eventually they start making money. Xbox consoles are the only ones that by Microsoft's own admission in court, has *never* turned a profit.
