Eh, it'll be three hotels up on the hill even if it's only one owned by Universal. The Hilton and Sheraton do quite well and are a convenient walk to CityWalk / the park.

Okay! Saddle Ranch Chop House was my favorite restaurant at USH's CityWalk before they closed it over there. I'm totally down for that vibe in CityWalk. Let me look up the menu for the other location. Hold please.

I just visited Category 10 during my Nashville trip back in October... and it was my favorite bar surprisingly (didn't think it would as its on the modern/techy side).

For those who don't know, the bar is essentially comprised of 3 levels (CityWalk looks like 2 levels) with the first 2 dedicated to a "traditional" honky tonk with line dancing throughout the day and live music. The restaurant surrounds the entirety of the dance flow where line dancing was taught every hour. It'll be interesting to see how lively this becomes.

It was announced there was a rooftop bar/lounge, so I'm guessing this is three levels as well, 2 indoor, 1 outdoor.

The press release says it is operated by Opry Entertainment; which is a shift away from Universal’s recent motive of booting out all 3rd party CityWalk venues

These guys will be paying some absurd rent :lmao:

I think Universal is willing to bend the rules if the price is right.

This feels like something they would make an ad for in a bad SNL sketch.

I'd imagine this opens up the opportunity for the northern side of the lake to receive something similar as well? The water taxis are a bit in the way, but there's that open space with the palm tree and kiosks that can provide some more space.

Probably more tricky as that's the water taxi ramp walkway, too.

Was thinking something along this area/layout. That palm tree plaza with the kiosks rarely appear busy and resell things you already see at the generic Universal stores.

IDK about extending that far into the walkway where the kiosks are, but I can see a small venue in that other shaded area. Universal does need a highly-themed bar somewhere!

I have to imagine this is smaller than Nashville’s location.

Looks like it's about half the size:

Nashville location: "Category 10 will total 67,000 square feet with three interior floors, rooftop, and an indoor/outdoor capacity of approximately 3,000"

Orlando location: "The approximately 33,000 square-foot, three-story Orlando location"
