Felt like this catching up when I just wanted to share my two cents from finally seeing this last night:

(Guess that probably explains why Viking's banned)

Anyway, this was good and once again really nice to get a different experience in the Dreamworks Theater twice in the same year. It was really cool to see those wind effects used to a stronger extent for those ghostly chills. Though it was a tiny bit hindered by the same problems with JJK, the lack of 3D being noticeable, and of course the lack of a dub. I feel like the design of the great chunk of the starting show footage really did not mesh well with the subs, since the characters/crowd are at the bottom and the subtitles are at the top. Even so, it was still hard to focus on what was happening on screen even though I knew where the subs would be. I did think them turning red for the total darkness segment was cool though.

I just also hope we can get 3D in the DreamWorks theater again if we're gonna start having these ports. I would have thought they'd keep it as a theater option for future films for it, but I'm surprised it seems they didn't make it with that in mind.

When they did the retheme and upgrades from Shrek 4D to DreamWorks Theater, it kind of resulted in some changes that...removed, the 3D from the theater. AFAIK.

If they were to do it, it wouldn't be as simple as simply reinstating 3D. It'd likely require capital expenses that could only truly come if DreamWorks Theater for daytime ops gets enhancements and a new film.

Honestly, I'm really surprised we haven't gotten a new film by now. I suppose it could be a budget issue, but it's still crazy considering it was intended as a flex space, and yet we've still had Panda for 7 years now (and there's a bit of irony that the overlays it's finally getting are non-DreamWorks IPs). Part of me has a slim hope it can be worked on (preferably ahead of the next FFN) via some kind of closed refurbishment considering how slow the theater already is by now. I remember when they axed the 3D from HP and DM in a heartbeat, but I can see the inverse won't work the same way.

They're releasing this in Japan and Hollywood, so I don't see why they wouldn't have time to do this? Maybe it's a contract issue? (i.e English voice actors are not necessarily contracted for voicing their characters outside film and television since theme park rides would not typically have been a concern for anime up till this point).

I doubt it's that. Anime Dub VAs have come back for non-TV/movie experiences before. There are anime games that have gotten ahold of the English cast (Dragon Ball, Naruto, MHA), and there was even a JoJo escape room at Anime Expo that got one of the English VAs for some bits despite being a carryover from Japan.

There is a market demographic that otherwise would not care about HHN that might be invested into this

Should this be dubbed? Quite frankly yes. I have heard for those who did Jujutsu Kaisen that the overall experience was not hampered as much from having to read subtitles, but I do wonder if they could work out a way to get English VO as Crunchyroll's NA teams finish the localization of the film ahead Reze Arc's domestic release.

Just wanted to cash in on that first talking point that I was indeed one of those people. The other intense houses may not have been my thing, but this was one of my group's must hits. It also helped justify my first ever trip to HHN after previously staying away.

And yeah, it's nice to see another also thinking dubbing these would be good, though I am willing to give this one a bit of a pass that it's also undubbed because of a last minute addition from FFN's success. With any hope, that's what they could do if they bring it back for next year. They already managed to do the resources for the projection mapping effects. Maybe the equivalent budget for that could go into dubbing it.

I don't mind the lack of 3D. I think they way they scale up the Cinema 4D USJ films to take advantage of the DWT projection mapping capabilities is neat.

I think it's cool too. It just kinda sucks to not see things pop out in front of the audience like they intended. I'm sure they can coexist.
