Note to VP Jeff Polk: Number one priority should be: Expand the maintenance teams so the rides/shows work properly, with their maximum capacity, on a daily basis. That'll 'work', most definitely. :D

And read the Inside Universal forums to get the best ride ideas. No copyright infringements, just give us a free drink/food pass.

Well, he's a former Sea World manager, so I don't know if we can expect much from him. That background/fact might explain a lot. :(

He was at Sea World like 40 years ago. He's been at UO since it opened.

Maybe his time has passed then. Doesn't seem like he's done a good job during Epics first year. :(

No? Because of the capacity challenges or ride downtime? Or something else?

Still waiting for the soundtrack to drop…I’m not expecting it, but really hoping they might include the full closing fountain show. Although now that I say that, maybe part of the delay is that it will include the full new show that’s coming. Wishful thinking, I know.

Overall....In business it's often a red flag when management just starts throwing stuff against a wall to see what sticks. That's a sign they don't have a clue. All of the scenarios should have been researched and surveyed before the park opened and since. With that comment of his, I have no faith that he is capable of fixing the issues.

And it looks like it’s getting released in the park tomorrow! Hopefully dropping on streaming as well, but I still want the vinyl.

Just a reminder that Orlando is still suffering from a fairly severe shortage of maintenance workers. It was already being stretched thin before Epic was thrown into the mix. Allegedly, Epic never reached its hiring targets for its maintenance team, along with many other areas of staffing.

This quote is specifically regarding the use of the open hub concept. Given that this is something that hasn't been done before in a theme park of this scale, its understandable that some experimentation will be warranted.

From the same article:

He added: "We're not gonna do anything en masse, though, until we have a comfort level that what we're doing is not upsetting the balance of the daytime guest experience and whatever these corporate or other activities might be."

I think this is moving from the ideas stage to implementation and while they might have an idea of how the concept will work operationally, to say they have it all figured out would be a stretch. I'm sure there are other elements they're looking at incorporating and it's all about balance. A good leader is one who can admit they don’t know everything and that there is a learning curve. I appreciate them saying that.

It will be interesting to see everyone needing to show their park tickets to even get on Stardust and Constellation.

I think the intention is to use the face scanners, so hopefully it wouldn't be backed up too much. Both rides have the same ground connectors that are in the portals to allow for it.

The face scanners at IoA for Uni Express are fairly quick but they still take time as you have to stand in a certain spot and wait a moment. A ticket scanner would probably be quicker but I honestly don't know.

Quite honestly, I don't think this will be THAT bad if it's something that happens after 5PMish.

The restaurants will get much more full, but hopefully it doesn't get too crazy. And I think all of us here are overestimating a bit just how many people will want to make their way over to Epic when they're not able to do any rides.

My concern is less that people who didn’t buy a ticket are going to compete with me for a dinner reservation (although, yes). It’s the added nuisance of having to scan my face so often inside a park I’ve already proven I’m allowed to be in. If they’re able to tighten things up with the scanners, obviously this could be moot.

I don’t know his pedigree or experience, so I can’t speak to if there’s an issue at that level, or not.

But I would say in general, sometimes you just need to tell people higher up “keep it simple, stupid.”

They currently do this when Stardust is open for EPA.
